Job Description
Position Purpose The Sales Account Executive is responsible for meeting and exceeding sales objectives within an assigned territory by promoting and selling outdoor advertising solutions to qualified advertisers. This role requires the use of professional sales techniques to build relationships, develop new business, and maintain long-term partnerships that drive revenue growth for Advertising. Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesSales and Business Development Meet and exceed individual sales targets and monitor personal sales performance through reports and data analysis Prospect and target businesses within the assigned territory, including both existing Lamar clients and competitor accounts Identify potential growth opportunities and open new accounts to increase Lamar's market share Promote and sell Lamar advertising products including posters, bulletins, and transit advertising (where applicable) Develop long-term relationships with advertisers to grow recurring business Sales Support and Client Engagement Become proficient in sales tools and systems used to identify prospects, track leads, prepare proposals, and research opportunities Prepare written sales presentations, proposals, and reports for clients Deliver professional presentations to prospective and existing clients using digital sales tools Maintain strong relationships within the advertising and business community Develop and improve presentation and sales communication skills Account Management Manage existing accounts and ensure customer satisfaction throughout advertising campaigns Maintain accounts receivable responsibilities for assigned clients Monitor campaign execution and coordinate with internal teams to ensure advertising campaigns begin and end as scheduled Communicate promptly with clients and management to resolve any campaign-related issues Self-Organization Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly sales plans Maintain a professional appearance and represent the brand positively Utilize sales tracking tools and complete daily planner and call reports after client interactions Keep organized and up-to-date records of client accounts and sales activities Time Management Maximize time in the field meeting with clients while minimizing travel time Travel overnight when necessary Work with the Sales Support Center and Multi-Market Coordinators to support multi-market campaigns Manage territory accounts geographically to maximize efficiency Administrative Responsibilities Maintain accurate client profiles and submit required sales documentation including planners, call reports, forecasts, and expense reports Follow up on client production orders to ensure campaign timelines are met Monitor billboard lighting and other display conditions when required Operate within the assigned expense budget Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to cold call businesses both over the phone and in person Strong presentation and communication skills Ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds and industries Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office applications Ability to adapt to new technology and sales platforms Understanding of outdoor advertising products and services Strong written communication skills for professional correspondence Ability to manage fluctuating workloads and priorities Strong relationship-building and client trust development skills Ability to work independently and remain motivated despite rejection Ability to meet and exceed sales quotas Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required Current and valid driver's license required College degree preferred Previous outdoor advertising or media sales experience preferred CRM experience preferred Physical Demands and Work Environment The work environment for this position includes both office-based work and fieldwork involving client meetings and sales calls.
