Job Summary Join the opening team of our brand-new Hilton Garden Inn / Homewood Suites dual-brand hotel in Alameda, CA! We are seeking a motivated, results-driven Sales Manager to join our opening leadership team and help build the hotel's sales foundation from the ground up. The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing new business, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue for both Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites . This position will focus on corporate negotiated accounts, group business, extended-stay opportunities, project and crew business, and other key market segments. As part of a new hotel opening, the Sales Manager will play an important role in establishing the hotels within the Alameda, Oakland, and greater East Bay market, developing a strong account base, and creating long-term partnerships with local businesses and organizations. Duties & Responsibilities Proactively identify, solicit, and develop new business opportunities for both Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites. Develop and maintain relationships with local corporations, businesses, organizations, travel managers, meeting planners, and other potential clients. Generate room revenue through corporate negotiated accounts, group business, extended stay, project business, crew accounts, and other market segments . Conduct outside sales calls, client meetings, site tours, presentations, and networking activities. Research and identify new companies, projects, developments, and demand generators within Alameda, Oakland, and the greater East Bay market. Develop account strategies to increase market share and maximize revenue opportunities. Prospect for new accounts through phone calls, email outreach, networking, referrals, and in-person sales activities. Respond to sales inquiries, leads, and RFPs accurately and in a timely manner. Prepare proposals, contracts, presentations, and other sales materials. Conduct professional hotel site tours for prospective clients and decision-makers. Negotiate rates and agreements within established hotel guidelines. Maintain accurate account information, activities, production, and follow-up within hotel sales systems. Monitor account production and identify opportunities to grow existing business. Work closely with Revenue Management and hotel leadership to ensure sales strategies support occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR goals. Partner with Front Office and Operations teams to ensure important accounts and groups receive appropriate recognition and service. Represent the hotels at local business organizations, networking events, community events, trade shows, and industry functions when appropriate. Develop relationships with businesses located near Alameda, Oakland International Airport, Harbor Bay, Oakland, and surrounding East Bay communities . Support pre-opening sales activities and assist in building awareness of the new hotels before opening. Maintain knowledge of competitors, market conditions, rates, and local demand trends. Meet or exceed established sales activity and revenue goals. Support sales efforts for both Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites . Perform other duties as assigned by hotel leadership. Qualifications Previous hotel sales experience strongly preferred . Previous Sales Manager, Sales Coordinator, or similar hospitality sales experience preferred. Previous Hilton sales experience is highly preferred . Experience selling corporate negotiated, group, and/or extended-stay business is highly desirable. Knowledge of the Alameda, Oakland, East Bay, or San Francisco Bay Area market is a strong plus. Existing relationships with local corporate accounts, travel managers, meeting planners, or other demand generators are highly desirable. Strong prospecting and new-business-development skills. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Self-motivated and comfortable conducting outside sales calls and developing business independently. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Ability to manage multiple accounts, leads, and priorities simultaneously. Professional appearance and demeanor. Strong computer skills and ability to learn Hilton and hotel sales systems. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with hotel leadership and operations teams. Must have flexibility to attend client meetings, networking events, and other business-related activities as needed.
