SUMMARY The Sales Manager ("Gerente de Ventas") is responsible for developing new business and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients to maximize revenue and achieve established sales goals. This position specializes in the corporate meetings and executive group market, promoting guest rooms, meeting space, banquet food and beverage, golf, spa, and other hotel services. The Sales Manager manages the sales process from prospecting and relationship development through negotiation and contracting while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, service, and customer satisfaction.

Compensation:

$70,304 - $75,000 DOE

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Conveys a favorable image of the hotel with a positive, professional appearance and demeanor. Responsible for meeting or exceeding productivity goals as assigned by the Director of Sales. Selling of hotel space and amenities for corporate meetings and events requiring between 11-19 guest rooms per night. Negotiate contract agreements with customers, including addendums to upsell and maximize revenue opportunities for the hotel. Plan and implement direct sales calls, participate in tradeshow activities, industry events and other networking opportunities in the territories assigned by the Director of Sales. Actively cultivates new accounts and solicits in market while consistently maintaining profitable relationships with existing key accounts. Creates with the Director of Sales a system to routinely update knowledge of competitive set and can identify competitor's strengths and weaknesses in order to respond as necessary. Aggressively contributes to the financial growth of the company by maintaining rate integrity and up-selling hotel amenities. Develops and implements a strategic sales plan of action in target market segments in conjunction with the Director of Sales. Maintains excellent interpersonal relationship skills with a professional approach to both internal and external customers. Conscientiously ensures that all sales activities are accurate and documented in a timely and efficient manner as prescribed by the Director of Sales. Supports the Director of Sales and sales team in a professional manner and seeks out new projects and assignments. Participates in safety program and wellness program and is involved in keeping working area and property safe. Assists the Director of Sales in the development of marketing plans for the hotel as well as quarterly action plans. Attend weekly sales meetings to review groups; resolve any discrepancies. Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or any equivalent. At least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training. A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement. Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred. Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required. Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges. Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs. The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.

•The pay scale posted is the salary or hourly wage range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for the position during the first year of employment. The posted range does NOT include potential additional types of compensation, such as gratuities, service charges, commissions, or bonuses. Actual compensation offered may fluctuate based on qualifications and/or experience.
