Manufacturing company experience Sales forecasts New product launch experience Full Job Description Join a global leader in thermal solutions as a Business Development Manager - Automotive and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of EVs, ADAS, and power electronics. In this role, you'll win thermal design-ins with OEMs and Tier-1s, working across EV battery systems, power electronics, ADAS/compute, lighting, and charging. You'll meet customers in plants and labs, translate their needs into actionable proposals, and guide projects from concept to SOP. Collaborate closely with R D and manufacturing teams in Asia to deliver cutting-edge solutions, including fans, integrated modules, and system-level cooling. Key Responsibilities Customer Engagement:
Prospect and qualify new opportunities with OEMs, Tier-1s, and EV ecosystem partners. Build long-term relationships through on-site visits, calls, referrals, and networking.
Solution Selling:
Present solutions, gather requirements, and align next steps. Turn customer needs into proposals, quotes, and sample/evaluation plans.
Program Management:
Drive design-ins from concept to launch, supporting DV/PV, validation/qualification, and PPAP as needed.
Collaboration:
Work daily with Operations/Manufacturing teams in Asia to manage builds, schedules, and escalations.
Account Management:
Track POs, shipments, and issues, ensuring quick resolution. Maintain CRM hygiene and deliver accurate pipeline, forecast, and account reports.
Market Expertise:
Stay current on EV thermal trends (battery packs, inverters, e-axles, ADAS/compute, and charging) and monitor customer roadmaps, competitors, and market dynamics.
Territory Development:
Build and execute a Detroit/Great Lakes territory plan, including referral networks and channel partners.
Qualifications Required:
5+ years of automotive B2B sales/BD experience with OEMs and Tier-1s (EV/thermal, power electronics, or ADAS/compute). Proven success in managing the automotive development cycle: RFQ/RFI, sourcing gates, DV/PV, PPAP/APQP, and SOP.
Strong pipeline discipline:
CRM management, forecasting, and follow-through. Bachelor's in ME/EE/IE or Business with strong technical aptitude (or equivalent experience). Design-in wins for fans, heat sinks, cooling modules, or system/rack thermal solutions—or for power electronics cooling (inverters, OBC, e-axle, battery pack). Familiarity with
IATF 16949/ISO
9001, DFMEA/PFMEA, control plans, and customer supplier portals. Experience taking programs from first meeting to SOP with clear revenue and margin outcomes.
Pricing/contracting expertise:
quotes, tooling/NRE, LTAs, and cost-down planning.
