Job Description

Position Summary The Westin Long Beach is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Sales Manager to generate group business and maximize revenue for our guest rooms, meeting spaces, and banquet facilities. This position is ideal for a hospitality sales professional who understands the convention market, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys building lasting client partnerships. The Sales Manager will prospect for new business, manage assigned accounts and market segments, respond to leads and RFPs, conduct site tours, negotiate agreements, and collaborate with hotel departments to ensure a seamless transition from contract signing through event execution. Key Responsibilities Proactively solicit and secure group, convention, association, corporate, government, SMERF, and other assigned business, assigned by geographic region. Develop new accounts while maintaining strong relationships with existing and repeat clients. Respond to leads and RFPs promptly, accurately, and competitively. Prepare proposals, contracts, banquet and meeting-space details, and other sales correspondence. Negotiate rates, concessions, room blocks, attrition, cancellation terms, and other contractual elements within established guidelines. Conduct compelling hotel tours and client presentations. Maintain accurate account, activity, and booking information in the hotel's sales system. Monitor business opportunities, booking pace, need dates, market trends, and competitor activity. Partner with Revenue Management to make strategic decisions regarding rates, availability, and total account value. Collaborate with Event Management, Banquets, Front Office, Reservations, Revenue, and Operations to ensure a smooth client experience. Participate in sales calls, industry events, trade shows, networking opportunities, and client entertainment. Meet or exceed established revenue, room-night, conversion, prospecting, and activity goals. Provide timely forecasts, production updates, lost-business information, and weekly sales reports. Support the hotel's overall revenue strategy while demonstrating genuine hospitality throughout the sales process. Qualifications Two or more years of hotel sales experience preferred; convention, group, or full-service hotel experience is strongly desired. Proven ability to develop accounts, negotiate contracts, and achieve revenue goals. Strong written, verbal, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to contractual details. Ability to manage multiple leads, deadlines, and client priorities simultaneously. Working knowledge of hotel operations, group sales, room blocks, meeting space, and banquet services. Experience and proficient knowledge with Cvent, CI/TY, and Marriott brand experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business applications. Flexibility to attend occasional evening, weekend, and off-site client events. Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, sales, marketing, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. What We Offer Competitive salary of $80k
