About Lusamerica:
Lusamerica Foods is a trusted West Coast leader in fresh, sustainable seafood distribution. Family-owned for over 40 years, we proudly serve grocery and foodservice clients with high-quality seafood delivered with care and consistency.
Overview:
We are on the lookout for a highly experienced and strategic Senior Sales Manager to lead our dynamic sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business development, expanding market share, and ensuring the successful execution of sales strategies. This role is ideal for a hands-on, working sales leader who leads from the front, actively engages in the field, and brings a strong hunter mentality to consistently generate new business and accelerate growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership :
Lead as a player-coach, managing and mentoring a team of inside and outside sales professionals while actively contributing to revenue generation
Business Development :
Proactively identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities to expand market share and drive revenue growth
Hunter Mentality :
Consistently build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through outbound efforts, prospecting, and strategic account targeting
Field Engagement :
Maintain a high level of visibility in the field, regularly meeting with prospects and customers to strengthen relationships and uncover opportunities
Strategic Planning :
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with company goals
Market Expansion :
Grow existing customer relationships while identifying and developing new distribution channels
Performance Management :
Establish sales performance metrics and analyze data to ensure targets are met or exceeded
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
Partner with marketing, operations, and product teams to align and optimize sales initiatives
Customer Engagement :
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders
Travel :
Travel extensively to Lusamerica locations and client sites to support business development and team performance
Qualifications:
Experience :
Minimum of 10 years in a senior sales leadership role, preferable within the seafood or food packaging industry Proven experience in outside sales, especially within B2B environments.
Business Acumen :
Strong understanding of sales operations, market analysis, and revenue forecasting
Leadership :
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing sales teams
Analytical Skills:
Expertise in using data to evaluate performance and drive strategic decisions
Communication :
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with customer service-oriented mindset to build lasting client relationships
Education :
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred) Strong background in business development, negotiation, and strategic planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing multi-state or national sales territories Familiarity with seafood industry trends and packaging innovations Established relationships within foodservice or retail distribution sectors
