full-time Build a Career Services function that creates meaningful opportunities for students! California Miramar University is seeking a hands-on Career Services & Employer Partnerships Manager to build and operate the University's Career Services function. This individual will develop employer partnerships, create career opportunities, coach students, establish effective processes, and track measurable outcomes. This is a fast-paced, high-ownership individual-contributor role that currently has no direct reports. It is ideal for a resourceful professional who enjoys building programs, working collaboratively across a university, and personally moving initiatives from planning through execution. Key Responsibilities Build and Operate Career Services Build and operate a practical Career Services function appropriate for a small, growing university. Develop repeatable workflows, resources, outreach schedules, student communications, and follow-up processes. Establish a regular calendar of coaching, workshops, employer events, and student communications, using technology and AI tools to increase efficiency. Employer Partnerships and Career Opportunities Build and maintain an active employer pipeline, initially focused on San Diego, while coordinating institution-level partnerships with the Strategic Partnerships Manager. Conduct consistent outreach to generate internships, jobs, projects, informational interviews, and networking opportunities. Match qualified students and graduates with opportunities and manage referrals, introductions, interviews, and follow-up. Organize employer events and gather feedback on candidate readiness, hiring needs, and skill gaps. Student Coaching and Career Readiness Provide individualized career coaching based on students' goals, readiness, and employment barriers. Assist students with resumes, profiles, job-search strategies, networking, interviewing, and salary-negotiation fundamentals. Develop and deliver practical workshops, templates, guides, and other career-readiness resources. Maintain consistent engagement and follow-up with both in-person and remote students. Alumni Engagement Engage alumni to collect employment and career-outcome data. Develop alumni participation as mentors, speakers, employer connections, and sources of internships and job opportunities. Data, Reporting, and Collaboration Track student engagement, employer outreach, alumni employment data, interviews, internships, placements, and other outcomes. Use data and employer feedback to improve services and support leadership, accreditation, and institutional reporting. Collaborate across the University while maintaining information in accordance with applicable privacy requirements and University policies. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field. At least three years of directly relevant experience in career services, workforce development, employer relations, university placement. Demonstrated success building programs or processes and developing employer partnerships that produced internships, interviews, or employment opportunities. Direct experience coaching students, graduates, job seekers, or candidates on career readiness and job-search strategies. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, track outcomes, and execute initiatives in a fast-paced environment. ?Preferred Qualifications Higher education experience, particularly with adult, international, military-affiliated, or nontraditional students. Established employer or community relationships in San Diego or Southern California. Experience developing alumni engagement and collecting employment-outcome data. Familiarity with student information systems, CRM platforms, , spreadsheets, dashboards, automation, and AI tools.
