This is a hands-on management position combining metal sales, customer relationship management, project coordination, and branch operations . The successful candidate will work directly with general contractors, purchasing agents, businesses, and municipalities to provide semi-finished metal products and fabricated metal goods for a variety of projects. In addition to managing existing customers and developing new sales opportunities, the Metal Sales Manager will oversee a small fabrication shop and distribution center, managing approximately 5-7 employees and coordinating projects with other branches of the company. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, computer literate, and comfortable working in both a sales and manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Sales & Customer Development Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, purchasing agents, businesses, municipalities, and other commercial customers . Manage existing customer accounts and ensure a high level of customer service. Identify and develop new sales opportunities and expand the customer base. Coordinate the sale and supply of semi-finished metal products and fabricated metal goods for customer projects. Work with customers to understand their material requirements, specifications, quantities, and delivery schedules. Prepare and follow up on quotes, orders, and customer requests. Maintain regular communication with customers throughout the sales and fulfillment process. Look for opportunities to increase sales and develop new markets and customers. Branch & Shop Management Manage the day-to-day operations of a small metal fabrication shop and distribution center . Supervise, schedule, and manage approximately 5-7 employees . Coordinate workflow, production schedules, material requirements, and deliveries. Help manage in-house fabrication and customer projects from initial order through completion. Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment. Monitor inventory and coordinate material requirements. Work closely with employees to ensure customer orders and projects are completed accurately and on schedule. Company Coordination Coordinate with other branches of the company on customer orders, inventory, material transfers, production, and sales opportunities. Work with company management and other departments to resolve customer and operational issues. Share sales leads and coordinate opportunities that may involve multiple company locations. Assist with special projects and other company initiatives as needed. Qualifications Required Strong sales, customer service, and communication skills. Excellent computer skills and PC literacy are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office , including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Ability and willingness to learn industry-specific software and computer systems. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple customers, orders, and projects simultaneously. Ability to effectively supervise and lead a team of employees. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with other branches and departments. Preferred 2+ years of metal sales experience preferred. Experience in the metal, construction, fabrication, manufacturing, or distribution industries. Previous supervisory or management experience. Familiarity with metal processing and fabrication equipment, including: Welding machines Press brakes Band saws Plasma tables Water jets Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, architectural drawings, and structural designs . Bilingual English/Spanish is a definite plus. Experience working with general contractors, purchasing agents, municipalities, or commercial businesses. Ideal Candidate We are looking for a hands-on manager with a strong sales mentality who can build relationships with customers while also effectively managing the day-to-day operations of our Vallejo facility. The ideal candidate will be comfortable walking into a fabrication shop, talking with employees about a project, reviewing a drawing with a customer, working with a contractor on material requirements, and then using a computer to manage the order and coordinate with other branches. Compensation & Benefits Annual Salary:
