Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on Sales Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Vallejo, CA, supporting a metal fabrication shop and distribution center. This role combines metal sales, customer relationship management, project coordination, employee supervision, and branch operations. The Sales Manager will work directly with general contractors, purchasing agents, municipalities, commercial businesses, and internal teams to support the sale and delivery of semi-finished metal products and fabricated metal goods. - Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with contractors, purchasing agents, businesses, municipalities, and other commercial accounts.
- Manage existing accounts, identify new sales opportunities, prepare quotes, follow up on orders, and coordinate customer requests.
- Oversee daily operations of a small metal fabrication shop and distribution center, including workflow, scheduling, inventory, and deliveries.
- Supervise, schedule, and support approximately 5 to 7 employees to ensure projects and orders are completed accurately and on time.
- Coordinate fabrication projects from initial order through completion, including material requirements, production timing, and customer communication.
- Work closely with other company branches on customer orders, inventory transfers, production needs, sales leads, and operational issue resolution. Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary: $90,000 to $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

- Manage sales growth, customer accounts, quotes, orders, and customer follow-up for metal products and fabricated goods.
- Lead branch operations for a small fabrication shop and distribution center.
- Coordinate customer projects, material requirements, production schedules, deliveries, and inter-branch communication.
- Supervise and support a team of approximately 5 to 7 employees in a hands-on shop and distribution environment.
- Strong sales, customer service, and communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills and strong PC literacy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability and willingness to learn industry-specific software and internal computer systems.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple customers, orders, and projects at the same time.
- Ability to effectively supervise, schedule, and lead employees.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with other branches, departments, customers, and team members.
- Comfort working in both a sales environment and a manufacturing, fabrication, or distribution setting. Preferred Qualifications
- 2 or more years of metal sales experience.
- Experience in the metal, construction, fabrication, manufacturing, or distribution industries.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Familiarity with metal processing and fabrication equipment, including welding machines, press brakes, band saws, plasma tables, and water jets.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, architectural drawings, and structural designs.
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills.
- Experience working with general contractors, purchasing agents, municipalities, or commercial businesses.
