Business Development Manager Ensign-Bickford Industries United States, Connecticut, Simsbury 640 Hopmeadow Street (Show on map) Sep 14, 2026 This opportunity is located within our Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company business, a global leader of mission-critical hardware and systems solutions including precision energetics systems and innovative explosive solutions. Job Description We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth within our Missiles Segment business. This individual will leverage deep Aerospace and Defense experience, strong engineering acumen, and trusted customer relationships to identify opportunities, develop differentiated solutions, and support profitable growth. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a track record of leading cross-functional collaboration, managing complex opportunity funnels, and increasing bookings. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage customer relationships by understanding their priorities, challenges, and definition of value
Identify, qualify, and track opportunities while accounting for DoD budget timing and contracting processes
Lead cross-functional collaboration to develop differentiated solutions to complex customer problems
Gather and document customer and market intelligence to inform business strategy and internal priorities
Prepare and deliver effective presentations to internal and external stakeholders
Drive actions that strengthen competitive differentiation, improve margins, and increase bookings Requirements Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
10+ years of experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry, with a background anchored in engineering through education, experience, or both
Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to listen deeply, frame customer problems, and develop solutions
Proven ability to foster long-term professional relationships and help organizations win and grow together
Experience managing opportunity funnels and driving year-over-year increases in bookings
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
