Special Events and Corporate Partnerships Manager

Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Special Events and Corporate Partnership Manager is responsible for managing and growing Halifax Humane Society's business partner portfolio and leading the execution, revenue growth, and sponsorship development of the organization's two signature fundraising events: Mutt Strut and Fur Ball. This position is critical to driving high-yield event revenue, cultivating corporate relationships, expanding third-party fundraising events, and ensuring data-driven decision-making through accurate CRM use and reporting. The Special Events and Corporate Partnership Manager will strategically develop outreach plans, sponsorship pitches, and closing materials that deepen corporate engagement and secure year-round investment. The ideal candidate is dynamic, relationship-driven, technologically proficient, and skilled in sponsorship sales, logistics, and peer-to-peer fundraising.

Key Responsibilities Signature Event Leadership:

Mutt Strut & Fur Ball Serve as the primary manager for Halifax Humane Society s two signature fundraising events-Mutt Strut and Fur Ball-ensuring each event meets or exceeds ambitious annual revenue targets. Lead sponsorship sales, event planning, logistics, timeline development, and revenue tracking. Collaborate with the Chief Advancement Officer, CEO, fundraising team, volunteers, and Board committees to achieve a combined $1 million gross revenue goal annually. Innovate annually to expand attendance, fundraising capacity, donor experience, and brand visibility Business Partnerships & Sponsorship Sales Generate revenue by selling tailored sponsorship packages for special events, programs, and community initiatives across Volusia County. Cultivate, steward, and expand relationships with business partners, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and recognition opportunities. Third-Party Events Expansion Expand a robust third-party events program as a sustainable revenue source. Achieve an annual goal of 25 paid third-party events, generating at least $12,500 in direct revenue, with year-over-year growth expected. Manage logistics, communication, stewardship, and reporting for all third-party events. Event Operations & Internal Collaboration Manage all aspects of event operations, including budgets, logistics, run-of-show schedules, vendor relationships, and on-site execution. Collaborate with the off-site adoption team to ensure seamless coordination for third-party and community events. Work closely with the marketing team to develop customized promotional strategies for each event, enhancing attendance and sponsorship visibility. Budgeting & Financial Management Track event revenue and expenses, process contracts and invoices, and oversee full budget reconciliation for all managed events. Negotiate vendor contracts and ensure all obligations, timelines, and cost efficiencies are met. In-Kind Partnerships Assist in securing in-kind donations through business and community partners to minimize event expenses. On-Site Production & Staffing Provide on-site leadership for all Halifax Humane Society events, ensuring flawless execution and exceptional guest experience. Perform additional responsibilities as required to support the Advancement Department. Qualifications Bachelor s degree and a minimum of 4 years of event planning experience; nonprofit sector preferred. Demonstrated success in sponsorship sales, fundraising events, or corporate partnerships. Exceptional professional communication skills-verbal and written-with the ability to listen, present, persuade, correspond, and collaborate across all levels. Strong judgment, negotiation skills, and decision-making ability. Proficiency with CRM systems, including data entry, queries, and reporting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly to change. Strategic thinker with resilience, strong work ethic, and a collaborative approach. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with CRM platforms is a plus. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during event cycles. Additional Requirements Valid driver's license with excellent driving record. Travel required throughout Volusia County. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check. Verified professional references. Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with event setup and animal handling. Schedule & Work Environment This role follows a flexible schedule that may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and extended hours based on event timelines. Primary work locations include Halifax Humane Society s main campus and venues throughout Volusia County and nearby regions.
