The desired candidate must be well organized, detailed, energetic, and highly motivated to continually network for new business. The Sales Manager will work intimately with the General Manager and will report directly to the Regional Director of Sales and support VP, Sales & Revenue Management. Given that the Sales Manager is a liaison between Naples Hotel Group and its clients, excellent writing skills, concise verbal communication and listening skills are necessary.
Job Responsibilities:
Streamlining day-to-day sales activities to reach top line revenue and RevPAR index goals, while maintaining company standards for guest satisfaction. Complete weekly sales activities to assigned hotels (Goals TBD by Regional Director of Sales and VP, Sales & Revenue Management) Generate group and/or corporate leads through internet prospecting, networking, and telemarketing. Participate in weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual meetings. Responsible for handling group sales inquiries and coordinating departmental communications for incoming arrivals. Take booking inquiry information via phone/email and prepare proper paperwork. Handle individual reservations for clients/groups as needed. Ensure that all arrangements, including upgrades, are handled properly, coordinating with other departments through oral and written instruction. Assist customers with plans for meetings, as well as scheduling and monitoring meeting functions. Confidently conduct property tours with clear communication of hotels' amenities Assist with follow-up on rooming lists, direct bill, and other logistical requirements for previously booked business. Ensure the prompt servicing of groups and accounts. Assist with major group check-ins as needed. Organize, file and retrieve documents in appropriate files/binders to maintain essential records used in the department operation. Follow consistent sales office procedures by updating account database; record account activity, call reports, traces, and history in Delphi or Delphi.fdc Update BT Volume Report and GRC, Group Rooms Control Log by due date. Generate guest room revenue for the hotel by booking inquire business (rate guidelines will be provided). Generate meeting room revenue for the hotel by booking inquire business (rate guidelines will be provided) Uses various computer word processing and other software packages to enter data, produce contracts, correspondence, forms, memorandum, and other documents. Be required to be cross trained with other departments and may be required to perform such task on a periodic basis. Participate in company sales blitzes on a regular basis. Attending company meetings to exchange product information and coordinate work activities with other departments. Represent the hotel in public affairs in the surrounding community and in the hospitality community in your region. Overall Guest Satisfaction is of the highest priority! This associate must follow all guidelines and training set forth by management and the hotel specific brand. Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Job Requirements:
An intimate working knowledge of market qualification, the four-step selling process (opening/qualifying, information gathering presentation of your proposal, and closing), file and trace management, and an entrepreneurial spirit focused on creating memorable experiences for our customers is essential. In addition, an understanding of annual revenue and expense budgets is considered an asset.
Standard Qualifications:
Four-year degree or equivalent experience Read, write, speak English fluently Excellent oral and written communication skills Interpersonal and time management skills Direct sales skills Guest relation skills Problem solving/ service recovery skills Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
Hours Required:
This is a salaried position, 45-50 hours per week are required Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor Passion for excellence and exceeding expectations Attention to detail and organizational skills are a must Love to learn
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; bend; walk; use hands or finger; or feel objects, tools or controls; lift boxes (up to 15 pounds); talk and hear. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision to a computer screen.
OTHER Requirements:
Employee must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available). Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Naples Hotel Group from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Naples Hotel Group rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the hotel facilities
