VP•Sales Position Overview ICOP is seeking a motivated and technically proficient Area Manager to support/run preconstruction and business development efforts for geotechnical construction projects throughout the Florida region. This role bridges engineering, sales, and operations —working closely with owners, developers, general contractors, engineers, as well as internal project teams to develop solutions, pursue opportunities, and secure profitable work. The ideal candidate has a strong engineering foundation, understands geotechnical construction methods, and excels at building long-term client relationships. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Client Engagement Develop and maintain relationships with owners, developers, general contractors, and consulting engineers Identify and qualify new project opportunities within the Metro DC market Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and networking functions Serve as a technical resource during preconstruction and pursuit phases Technical Sales & Preconstruction Support Review geotechnical reports, plans, and specifications to identify project risks and opportunities Collaborate with estimating and operations teams to develop competitive, constructible solutions Assist with bid strategy, scope definition, value engineering, and alternative design concepts Support proposal development, presentations, and interviews Market & Strategic Support Track market activity, competitors, and key projects in the region Support strategic account planning and market sector growth initiatives Maintain accurate CRM records for client interactions and pursuits Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field 5+ years of experience in construction. Prefer a geotechnical background with knowledge of deep foundations, or specialty construction Strong understanding of geotechnical systems (i.e., drilled shafts, micropiles, soil mixing, shoring, sheet piles, or ground improvement) Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Ability to read and interpret geotechnical reports and construction documents Preferred Prior experience in sales, estimating, project engineering, or project management PE license or EIT certification Familiarity with the northeast construction market and key regional clients Key Competencies Technical credibility with clients and engineers Strategic thinking and opportunity assessment Collaborative mindset with operations and estimating teams Strong presentation and negotiation skills Organized, proactive, and self-motivated We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
