Operating as the "quarterback" of the sales process, this role manages the flow of information, resources, and communication across customers, Business Development Managers (BDM), Account Managers (AM), Technical Sales Engineers (TSE), Project Managers (PM), and operations. The Inside Sales Manager ensures that opportunities are properly qualified, resources are efficiently deployed, and customer needs are translated into actionable internal workstreams. This role owns CRM integrity, opportunity progression, and customer responsiveness, enabling the broader sales team to focus on relationship development and deal closure. Success in this role is defined by pipeline creation, speed of execution, data accuracy, and customer experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
Sales Process Coordination (Quarterback Role) Serve as the central point of coordination for all assigned customer accounts and opportunities Manage inbound and outbound customer communication and ensure timely follow-up Route opportunities to the appropriate commercial or technical resources (BDM, AM, TSE, PM) Coordinate all customer meetings through scheduling resources to optimize field team efficiency Ensure alignment between customer needs and internal execution teams Pipeline and Opportunity Management Own the creation, progression, and hygiene of opportunities in CRM (HubSpot/Syteline) Qualify inbound leads and outbound campaign responses before assigning to BDMs Track opportunity status and proactively drive next steps with internal stakeholders Identify stalled opportunities and re-engage resources to move deals forward Customer Account Management (Day-to-Day) Act as the primary point of contact for routine customer communication Provide updates on quotes, repair status, field service scheduling, and project progress Gather and clarify customer requirements to ensure accurate scoping and execution Maintain strong responsiveness and professionalism in all customer interactions Outbound Campaign Execution Execute and follow up on marketing-driven outbound campaigns Engage new and existing customers to generate qualified opportunities Capture campaign insights and feedback in CRM to improve targeting and messaging Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with: BDMs for new business development and opportunity ownership AMs for account strategy and relationship management TSEs for technical scoping and solution development PMs for project coordination and execution alignment Customer Support / Operations for quoting, order processing, and status updates Ensure all stakeholders have the information needed to engage effectively with the customer CRM and Data Ownership Maintain accurate, complete, and real-time CRM data for all customer interactions and opportunities Ensure all meetings, communications, and updates are properly logged Support pipeline reporting and forecasting accuracy
Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklift trucks, and other equipment. 5-10 years of experience in inside sales, sales operations, or customer-facing coordination roles Experience in industrial, manufacturing, motors, or heavy equipment environments Preferred Strong organizational and multitasking ability across multiple customers and opportunities Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) High sense of urgency and accountability Proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and ERP systems (Syteline preferred) Ability to translate customer needs into actionable internal requirements
