Job Description

We are a software company based in Dalton, GA, with an app that helps HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing contractors price their services more effectively. Our mission is to help contractors and entrepreneurs implement proven processes that improve profitability and create long-term stability. We provide a suite of sales and communication systems used by companies worldwide, along with comprehensive coaching and training programs to help them maximize results.
Company:
The New Flat Rate (TNFR)
Location:
Dalton, Georgia — In-office required during the initial 90-day period; hybrid flexibility may be available thereafter
Employment Type:
Full-Time About the Role The New Flat Rate is looking for a Director of Sales to build, lead, and own our sales engine. We're at a stage where growth requires more than individual effort and great salespeople. We need a disciplined, measurable, and repeatable sales system that consistently turns qualified opportunities into new customers and revenue. This is a hands-on sales leadership role . You'll be responsible for the day-to-day performance of Sales while also building the processes, people, technology, coaching, and accountability necessary for TNFR to scale. You'll own the sales number, pipeline health, forecasting, conversion performance, and development of the sales team. You'll work closely with Marketing and company leadership to ensure qualified opportunities move through a clearly defined sales process and that leadership has an accurate picture of what's happening in the pipeline. And when necessary, you'll sell. We're looking for someone who is as comfortable coaching a salesperson, reviewing a pipeline, and analyzing conversion data as they are stepping into a sales conversation and helping close business. About The New Flat Rate The New Flat Rate is a software, training, and business-development company serving contractors in the skilled trades, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other home-service industries.
Our mission is simple:
Keeping Families Together By Making Businesses More Profitable. We help contractors improve profitability and create stronger businesses through pricing systems, software, training, coaching, and field support.
Our core values are:
Innovative — We continuously improve our systems, products, and approach. Helpful — We equip our customers and teammates with the tools and support they need to succeed. Driven — We take ownership, pursue results, and hold ourselves accountable. Ambassador — We represent TNFR's mission and values well, internally and externally. What You'll OwnRevenue Performance You will be accountable for achieving TNFR's new-sales and new recurring-revenue targets. You'll translate company revenue goals into measurable sales targets, monitor performance weekly, identify gaps early, and lead corrective action when results are off track. You won't simply report the sales number. You'll own it. The Sales Process Build, document, implement, and continuously improve a repeatable sales process from qualified opportunity through closed business. You'll establish clear standards for: Sales qualification Discovery Demo preparation and execution Follow-up Pipeline stages CRM documentation Objection handling Closing Closed-lost analysis Lead reactivation The goal is a sales process that produces predictable results and can scale as the team grows. Sales Team Leadership Lead the daily execution of the sales team.
You'll:
Establish clear expectations and KPIs Conduct pipeline and performance reviews Coach salespeople using actual calls, demos, and results Identify performance gaps and address them quickly Help recruit, onboard, and ramp future sales talent Create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement Ensure every salesperson understands what's expected and where they stand Pipeline & Forecasting Create a pipeline leadership can trust. You'll ensure opportunities are properly managed, next steps are clear, follow-up happens consistently, and CRM data reflects reality. You'll own sales forecasting and communicate clearly: Where are we against target? What's likely to close? Where is the pipeline breaking down? What are we doing about it? Conversion You'll continuously work to improve the effectiveness of TNFR's sales process.
That includes monitoring and improving:
Demo attendance Demo-to-sale conversion Follow-up effectiveness Sales cycle length Deal velocity Average sale value Lost-sale reasons You'll use data, call reviews, coaching, and experimentation to identify what's working and what needs to change. Marketing-to-Sales Alignment Partner closely with Marketing to create a clear and measurable handoff between demand generation and Sales. Together, the teams will maintain clear definitions for leads, qualified opportunities, and sales-ready prospects while establishing feedback loops around lead quality, messaging, objections, customer profiles, and conversion. Marketing generates demand. Sales owns converting qualified demand into revenue. Sales Infrastructure Build the systems required to scale the sales organization, including: Sales playbook CRM standards Sales dashboards and scorecards Scripts and talk tracks Coaching processes Sales onboarding Performance expectations Pipeline-management standards Compensation recommendations Sales technology and tools We want to build a sales organization that becomes more predictable and effective as TNFR grows. What Success Looks Like Success in this role means TNFR develops a predictable, measurable, and scalable sales engine.
Leadership can clearly see:
How much qualified pipeline exists How pipeline translates into expected revenue How many opportunities are progressing through Sales How effectively demos are converting Why opportunities are being won or lost Whether Sales is on pace to achieve its targets What actions are being taken when performance falls behind Most importantly, TNFR consistently produces new customers and revenue through a repeatable sales process rather than relying on individual heroics. What We're Looking For We're looking for a builder and operator , not simply an administrator of an established sales team. You may be a strong fit if you have: 5+ years of progressive B2B sales experience Demonstrated sales leadership or management experience Experience building or significantly improving a sales process A documented history of achieving and growing revenue targets Experience coaching salespeople and improving performance Strong pipeline-management and forecasting skills Experience working within a CRM such as HubSpot Strong understanding of sales metrics and conversion funnels Experience recruiting, onboarding, or developing sales talent The ability and willingness to personally sell when necessary Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills Experience selling SaaS, subscription, membership, consulting, training, or other recurring-revenue solutions is highly valuable. Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, home services, or the skilled trades is a plus, but not required. A bachelor's degree is preferred; equivalent demonstrated experience will be considered. The Person Who Will Thrive Here You'll likely thrive at TNFR if you: Take ownership instead of waiting for direction Are comfortable being measured by results Use data to identify problems instead of explaining them away Enjoy coaching and developing people Can move comfortably between strategy and execution Build processes instead of relying on heroics Address accountability issues directly Are willing to roll up your sleeves and sell Can build structure in an entrepreneurial environment Want to build something rather than inherit something already finished Why Join The New Flat Rate? You'll have the opportunity to build and shape the sales organization during an important stage of TNFR's growth. You'll work directly with company leadership, have meaningful influence over how the sales organization operates, and help create the revenue engine that supports TNFR's next stage of growth.
