Job Description

Overview:
We are currently hiring to add a trusted key member of the Executive Committee as the Director of Sales & Marketing to lead and manage the sales and catering department. The ultimate mission of this role will be to achieve or exceed established departmental booking goals and budgeted hotel room and catering revenues, grow market share for hotel over prior year and over the competitive set as measured by the Smith Travel Report (STAR), as well as, ensures the efficient execution of all departmental sales and service processes both internally and externally to ensure a high level of customer service, employee morale, inter-departmental communication and teamwork. Positioned as one of the key hotel leaders, this is a phenomenal opportunity to: Provide strategic direction and insight to aid hotel employees, supervisors and managers in successfully executing their job responsibilities. Be a key member of the Leadership team liaising with all department heads across the hotel Empower sales staff to make decisions and drive sales process. A strong predictor of success for the Director of Sales & Marketing will be: Analyze and manage business opportunities to achieve the highest profit margins for department and hotel Achievement of the sales team's monthly and quarterly booking goals Effectively establish and implement department Standard Operating Procedure's (SOPs) in accordance with Crestline and franchise guidelines Develop cohesion with direct reports and maximize productivity amongst the team by providing continuous opportunities for career development

Vice President of Sales & Marketing Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and manage sales and marketing operating budget in accordance to the hotels business plan. Manage the sales process and coordinate leads as needed Proactive and continuous sales efforts Development, maintenance and implementation of sales action plans. Monitor competitor production and sales/marketing activities Negotiating, detailing and administration of required documents for group rooms and related events. Direct supervision of the sales, catering and conference services staff Ensure appropriate rates and room blocks are offered to maximize market performance Hold regular meetings with sales staff to measure performance, establish pro-active sales action plans and communicate goals and sales action plans Negotiate group and company contracts with in approved Crestline guidelines Manage RFPs process to maximize market account production Identifies marketing opportunities and executes marketing plan Tracks marketing initiatives and measures ROI Implementation of marketing franchise sales, training, and facilitation of revenue increasing strategies by utilizing brand initiatives and tools. Ensures Business Plan and related action plans are executed as established Involved in revenue management process. Create performance notes for rollup discussion to ownership
Education and Experience:
A passion for Hotel Sales coupled with a competitive, a hunter mentality! Bachelor's Degree (Four Year College or University) preferred: or 3-5 years of equivalent work experience Strong understanding of Hotel Sales and Comp Sets with a proven track record of success Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
  • your ability to communicate and influence by word and writing is a must Strong understanding of how to best sell and market banquet and catering revenue and how to forecast it accurately Premium branded, lifestyle, or independent hotel experience (Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, or IHG), especially with in the full-service hotel space and/or conference centers Computer Skills
  • you must have the ability to communicate effectively through email as well as manipulate and analyze information quickly from spreadsheets and databases Knowledge of Hotel Computer Systems to include brand-specific systems (Delphi, CI/TY, etc.
