Job Description

Hotel Blackhawk Davenport, IA seeks a Director of Sales & Chief Engineer to lead revenue generation and property operations for two upscale hotels. This dual-role position oversees group and corporate sales, develops strategic sales plans, manages key accounts, and drives occupancy and ADR. Simultaneously, the role directs engineering, maintenance, and life-safety programs, ensuring optimal building systems performance, guest comfort, and brand standards. The director leads cross-functional teams, manages budgets and vendors, supports events and F&B, and champions a culture of personalized service, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive group, corporate, and leisure revenue for Hotel Blackhawk and The Current Lead, coach, and mentor sales and engineering teams to achieve performance, service, and safety goals Manage key client relationships, proposals, contracts, and site visits to maximize occupancy and ADROversee engineering, maintenance, and life-safety programs, ensuring reliable building systems and guest comfort Plan and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and capital projects for sales and engineering functions Coordinate with events, F&B, and front office to support flawless execution of meetings and social functions Ensure compliance with brand, regulatory, and safety standards across both properties Implement preventive maintenance programs and manage vendor relationships and service contracts Analyze performance metrics and market trends to adjust strategies and identify new business opportunities Foster a culture of personalized service, professionalism, and continuous operational improvement Required Skills Hotel sales strategy and revenue management Key account and group sales management Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Hotel engineering and building systems oversight Preventive maintenance planning Vendor and contract management Team leadership and cross-functional collaboration Regulatory, safety, and brand compliance Data analysis and performance reporting Hospitality CRM and property management systems (PMS)
