Contractors Supply Group is seeking a high-performing Sales Director to lead, scale, and mentor our growing team of Outside Sales Representatives. Headquartered in Addison, IL, you will drive strategic revenue growth, optimize territory sales processes, and support our nationwide expansion serving horizontal drilling and overhead utility contractors. This leadership role is based at our corporate office and requires a strategic thinker who can seamlessly bridge executive-level business development with hands-on field leadership to drive total team success.

Pay Range:
$70k - $125K per year (Base salary + performance bonus structure)
Reports To:
CEO Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and hold accountable a team of Outside Sales Representatives managing multi-state territories (IL, IN, WI, MI, NJ, PA, MD, DE, VA). Oversee the Leadership Development Program (LDP) to identify, train, and promote top-performing reps into territory managers. Establish and enforce clear KPIs , ensuring reps maintain consistent client schedules, product demonstrations, and CRM accuracy. Cross-Functional Mentorship & Communication Partner closely with Sales Lead and Sales Support roles to deliver dedicated mentorship, open lines of communication, and operational guidance. Identify and implement best practices and system improvements to streamline order flows, quoting accuracy, and sales technology utilization. Bridge internal sales support operations with the field , ensuring transparent, smooth, and timely communication between the corporate office and remote sales teams. Sales Optimization & Pipeline Management Refine and scale the "Contractors Supply Group Partnership" strategy to ensure maximum account retention and competitor differentiation. Run bi-weekly sales meetings directly with the CEO to review pipeline forecasts, quotas, and strategic territory opportunities. Audit on-site product demonstrations , inventory count processes, and job quote accuracy across the sales team. Bid Management & Vendor Pricing Optimization Oversee the bidding process for large-scale utility and horizontal drilling projects, ensuring all submitted quotes are accurate, competitive, and highly profitable. Negotiate pricing and supply agreements with manufacturers and vendors to secure maximum margins and exclusive advantages for our sales team. Standardize quoting frameworks within the CRM, providing field sales and internal support teams with clear, up-to-date vendor pricing matrices to minimize quoting errors. Analyze market pricing fluctuations on tooling, technology, and chemical products to proactively adjust corporate pricing strategies against competitors. Corporate Strategy & Travel Travel up to 35% into the field to shadow representatives, build high-level relationships with major utility contractors, and audit territory performance. Collaborate directly with the CEO to scale the company's product lines (Tooling, Tech, and Chem) and national footprint.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
5+ years of B2B outside sales experience, with at least 2+ years in a sales leadership, management, or director-level role (Construction or industrial supply industries preferred).
Account Maintenance Expertise:
Proven track record managing teams focused on long-term client maintenance, recurring inventory cycles, and relationship management.
Operations & Mentorship Capability:
Strong background in coaching both internal support staff and field representatives, with a history of improving internal workflows.
Travel & Compliance:
Willingness to travel 35% of the time.
Health & Safety:
