Job Description

Role Description The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is a key sales leader responsible for driving revenue growth, developing high-performing sales teams, and strengthening Europa's presence across the assigned region. This role combines strategic sales leadership, hands-on coaching, and cultural ambassadorship to ensure consistent goal achievement, exceptional customer relationships, and alignment with Europa's mission and brand values. The RSM serves as both a results-driven business leader and a bridge between the field and corporate office, fostering communication, collaboration, and accountability across the organization. About Europa Eyewear Europa Eyewear, based in Vernon Hills, IL, is one of the largest independent designers and manufacturers of eyewear frames in the United States. Europa offers a diverse portfolio of 11 independent eyewear brands, including STATE Optical Co., which launched in 2015, and American Optical (AO Eyewear), which are both produced in our Chicago factory, the largest eyewear manufacturing facility in the United States. Europa partnered with Blue Point Capital Partners in April of 2023 to prepare for its next stage of growth. As part of the platform strategy, Blue Point made its first acquisition, in eyebobs, an omni-channel premium readers brand based in Minneapolis, MN and added Cutler & Gross to our portfolio of brands. Key Responsibilities Drive Sales Results Deliver Regional Sales Performance:
Achieve regional revenue and profitability goals by setting clear expectations, reviewing pipelines, and identifying weekly and monthly performance gaps.
Territory and Account Strategy:
Optimize territory coverage and account segmentation (high potential, at-risk, and prospect accounts). Partner with representatives to develop strategic plans, close key deals, and expand regional growth opportunities.
Forecasting and Reporting:
Maintain accurate sales forecasts, analyze performance data, and proactively address challenges to ensure consistent goal attainment.
Brand and Product Expertise:
Ensure representatives are trained to effectively communicate Europa's product, brand, and pricing value proposition. Drive successful product launches and ongoing brand awareness.
Regional Insights:
Monitor market and competitor trends, customer feedback, and pipeline health to inform strategic direction and sales initiatives.
Lead, Coach, and Develop Your Team Recruit and Build Talent:
Proactively source, recruit, and onboard high-performing Sales Representatives to strengthen the regional team.
Coaching and Development:
Conduct weekly check-ins, accountability calls, and regular field travel for joint sales calls, coaching, and training. Provide actionable feedback and recognize achievements.
Performance Management:
Conduct formal monthly and annual performance reviews, create development plans, and address underperformance early.
Drive Accountability:
Maintain clear performance metrics—tracking new doors, stock orders, and weekly pace.
Retention and Engagement:
Build strong relationships with team members, reduce ramp-up time for new hires, and foster engagement through clear communication, recognition, and consistent support. Enhance Culture and Act as a
Bridge Between Field and Home Office Culture Champion:
Foster a culture of accountability, growth, and high performance that aligns with Europa's values, mission, and strategic direction.
Communication and Collaboration:
Act as the strategic voice for the region—sharing company updates, policies, and initiatives with the team, while communicating field insights (product, marketing, and competitive feedback) to leadership.
Recognition and Connection:
Celebrate wins, recognize top performers, and inspire consistent effort across the region. Keep representatives connected to the broader company strategy and culture.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with the Director of Sales, Key Accounts, and other Regional Sales Managers to align strategy, share best practices, and deliver unified execution.
Customer Advocacy:
Support representatives in key customer meetings, manage top regional accounts, resolve escalations, and ensure a positive customer experience.
Operational and Strategic Excellence Data and Insights:
Analyze sales data, monitor KPIs, and identify growth opportunities or risks. Prepare regular reports for leadership detailing regional performance, trends, and field feedback.
Territory Coverage:
Ensure effective management of vacant territories and key accounts to maintain continuity and performance.
Market and Event Presence:
Represent Europa at key industry events and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and strengthen regional relationships.
Strategic Contribution:
Support sales forecasting, budget planning, and alignment with company goals across new account growth, brand expansion, and sales productivity. Defining Success (KPIs) 80%+ of Sales Representatives consistently meet or exceed their goals; region achieves 100% of plan. Regional sales revenue meets or exceeds monthly, quarterly, and annual quotas. Territory penetration rate of 75% or greater. Accurate forecasting and proactive problem-solving. Strong team engagement reflected in survey results and rep feedback. Demonstrated culture of accountability, coaching, and recognition. Recognized by both leadership and the field as a trusted, effective regional leader. Basic Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in optical sales management or similar field Strong leadership abilities with a track record of building and managing high- performing teams. Ability to carry sample bags weighing at least 25 lbs. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven sales performance and ability to drive revenue growth. Excellent people skills and the ability to develop relationships. Effective training and presentation skills. Critical thinking skills with the ability to anticipate challenges and propose solutions. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Significant and regular field time is required, including overnight travel based on geographic needs (up to 100% travel).
