We sell whole-property stays to groups. Corporate retreats. Derby weekends. Bourbon trips. Bachelor and bachelorette parties. Reunions. Sports teams. A group takes the entire building or a large portion of it. The open dates on the calendar decide what you chase. The job has two goals. Drive group revenue for both properties. Build the relationships that bring it back. Most of your week is outbound. You find the planners and companies who bring groups to Louisville, get them on the phone, walk them through the buildings, and close the buyout. Inbound leads from the website and our email campaigns come to you too. When a group you booked arrives, you meet and greet them and welcome them through with a dedicated trip coordinator. Operations runs the stay from there. You report to the operations director. What you will do Prospect corporate retreat buyers, event planners, destination management companies, and the people who book Derby and bourbon trips. Prospect SMERF, sports, and leisure segments. Generate group and/or corporate leads through internet prospecting, networking, and telemarketing. Work every inbound inquiry the same day. Quote it, follow up, close it. Tour clients through both properties, in person and on video. Write proposals and contracts for whole-property buyouts. Work your Louisville network. Tourism, the downtown business community, distilleries, planners, corporate travel buyers. Know the calendar 30, 60, and 90 days out. Sell the open weeks. Keep the pipeline clean. Every lead, call, and follow-up logged in the CRM. Meet and greet booked groups on arrival, and welcome them through with a dedicated trip coordinator. Keep the sales scoreboard updated weekly and report weekly. What we need Two or more years in hotel sales or hospitality. Group or corporate sales preferred. A Louisville network you bring with you. Planners, corporate contacts, distillery event people, the tourism office. You know who books groups in this city and they know you. You have prospected before. You have worked a territory where nothing came in unless you went out and got it. You close. You ask for the business and you get it. You work alone and you like it. You run your own pipeline, your own calendar, your own follow-up. Your emails are short and clear. Planners read them on their phones between meetings. Comfortable in a CRM and a property management system. Reliable car and a valid license. You will drive to client sites and events. Pay and benefits Base salary, depending on experience. Health insurance. Paid time off. Friends and family stay rates and dates available. Why this job If you have sold room blocks for a flag, you know the drill. Thirty rooms on the third floor, a rate the revenue manager set, breakfast next to the lobby, and a client/planner who can get the same thing from the hotel across the street. We asked what a group gets from a hotel besides thirty keys and a breakfast room. The honest answer was very little. So we built the other thing. We are breaking the industry's idea of what a group staying at a hotel is and what it can be. Every hotel sells a bed. We sell the whole building to one group. A private speakeasy. A game yard. Storied rooms where the CEO and the new hire end up at the same table. People book us to get to know the people they came with better. Nobody else in Louisville can put all that on a proposal. The building helps you sell. A planner has toured the same king suite in forty cities. Walk them down to the speakeasy and they see something nowhere else on their list. That gets you the second call. You still make the first one, run the tour, and close. A year in, you have a book of groups that call you first, a building that does half the closing, and a product you would tell your friends about. You earn commission on the new groups you book, and you get to sell something you believe in. How to apply Apply with your resume.
