THE OPPORTUNITY
The Director of Business Development will lead the day-to-day work of the Business Development team and build a disciplined, proactive, and strategically aligned growth organization. This leader will strengthen pipeline development, improve opportunity execution, increase win rates, and personally guide key customer pursuits.
WHAT YOU WILL LEAD
Coach, mentor, and develop business development professionals. Direct customer engagement, opportunity development, capture planning, and pipeline management. Create a consistent operating rhythm through opportunity reviews and clear accountability. Coordinate closely with Engineering, Operations, and Marketing. Advance key opportunities while sharing market intelligence across the organization
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
DoD, Intelligence Community, federal agency, prime contractor, or related commercial markets. Selling complex engineered solutions for federal or defense requirements. SCIFs, data centers, modular infrastructure, secure facilities, or mission-critical environments. Federal procurement and funding cycles, including access to military installations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales, capture management, or a related customer-facing leadership role. 5+ years leading, coaching, or mentoring business development or sales professionals. Demonstrated success building qualified pipeline and improving win rates. Knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense acquisition and government procurement methods. Experience with pipeline management, forecasting, CRM practices, capture strategy, and competitive positioning. U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a background check.
