This role focuses on building strong client relationships, developing strategic sales plans, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service that aligns with The Wyndham brand standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates integrity in the sales process by setting clear, achievable expectations, and ensuring all commitments align with the hotel's operational capabilities. They are also highly motivated to drive results and close business effectively.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports directly to the Managing Directors, General Manager and Owners and collaborates closely with the operational and Executive Team Members.
OFFICE HOURS
Core business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible and have ability to work evenings, weekends or holidays based upon client needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively solicit new group business through direct sales calls, networking, and attending industry events.
- Identify and pursue new group business opportunities in all markets
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and partners to ensure repeat business.
- Conduct site visits and presentations to showcase the hotel property
- Negotiate contracts and manage group bookings process
- Stay informed about market trends and competitor activities in the Houston area.
- Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure seamless execution of group events.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions
- Ability to service all incoming groups (Resumes + BEOs)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Group Sales Manager in a 3-Star Hotel.
- Prior experience as a Hotel Conference Service Manager or Catering Sales Manager is a plus.
- Familiarity with all markets and travel trends.
- Strong knowledge of the New Orleans hospitality market and client base.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, M1 Intel software
- Must thrive in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively support operations team in resolving issues as they arise
- Ability to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.
- Experience with 3-Star Hotel brands or limited service hotels is preferred
