We are looking for an energetic, organized, creative, and results-driven Sales & Marketing Manager to help grow four distinct and exciting downtown Detroit venues This is a hands-on role for someone who loves hospitality, knows Detroit, enjoys building relationships and can take a project from start to finish. You'll drive sales, develop partnerships, oversee marketing and promotions, lead our events team, and continually find new ways to bring guests through our doors. This is not a sit-behind-a-desk-all-day position. We're looking for someone who can spot opportunities, develop great ideas, and — most importantly — execute them. This has the potential to be one of the most fun and rewarding jobs downtown: people, places, events, food and beverage. You will be selling and executing great experiences in Downtown Detroit. What You'll DoSales & Business Development Build relationships with downtown businesses, hotels, concierges, convention groups, tourism organizations, and community partners. Develop relationships with organizations and major Detroit events including Visit Detroit, the Detroit Downtown Partnership, Grand Prix, Jazz Festival, and others. Identify and execute opportunities to grow weekday, lunch, happy-hour, late-night, seasonal, and event-driven business. Catering Sales and Execution Develop corporate programs, hotel referrals, sponsorships, cross-promotions, and strategic partnerships. Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently follow up with prospective and past customers. Capitalize on major Detroit sports, entertainment, convention, and tourism opportunities through creative promotions, events, marketing, and partnerships. Develop staff sales incentives and work with front-of-house teams on promotions, training, upselling, and current sales priorities. Track results and meet established sales, traffic, event, and revenue goals. Marketing & Brand Management Develop and execute a marketing and promotional calendar for all four venues. Create campaigns around menu launches, holidays, entertainment, sporting events, seasonal opportunities, and other business priorities. Oversee social media and ensure fresh, interesting, diverse, and on-brand content is posted consistently.
Merchandising Responsibilities:
- design / select, order, stock, display, distribute Coordinate photography, video, graphics, signage, menus, flyers, merchandise, and other branded materials. Develop email marketing and customer outreach campaigns. Keep websites, online listings, menus, hours, and venue information accurate and current. Build relationships with media, influencers, photographers, designers, and advertising partners. Proactively pursue press coverage, local and national features, and opportunities to get our venues and menu items onto relevant "best of" lists. Use AI and other technology to improve efficiency, automate appropriate processes, and strengthen sales and marketing efforts. Events Sales & Management Lead and support our events team from initial inquiry through successful event execution. Monitor event inquiries, proposals, bookings, follow-up, and revenue. Coach the team on sales, communication, customer service, and venue knowledge. Ensure event information is communicated clearly between customers, managers, culinary teams, and operations. Follow up with completed events for feedback, repeat business, referrals, and future sales opportunities. Track event sales performance, lead sources, conversion rates, and opportunities for growth. What We're Looking For A creative mindset paired with the ability to execute, follow through, maintain and deliver measurable results. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once. 3+ years of experience in hospitality sales, marketing, business development, events, brand management, or a related field Restaurant, bar, hotel, tourism, entertainment, or event-venue experience strongly preferred. Experience supervising or leading a sales, marketing, or events team. Strong communication, networking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. High proficiency with social media, email marketing, digital marketing, CRM systems, and modern AI/productivity tools. Familiarity with downtown Detroit's business, hospitality, tourism, and entertainment communities is a plus. Why our Hospitality Group? You won't be marketing one generic concept.
