09/02/2026 Position Summary The Regional Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of multiple Adult Foster Care (AFC) homes to ensure exceptional resident care, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and staff development. This position provides leadership and support to home managers and direct care staff while ensuring all homes operate in accordance with Michigan licensing requirements and organizational policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations Oversee the daily operations of multiple AFC homes. Conduct routine site visits and quality assurance audits. Ensure all homes maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Monitor occupancy and assist with admissions and discharges. Develop and implement operational improvements. Compliance Ensure compliance with Michigan Adult Foster Care licensing regulations. Prepare homes for announced and unannounced state inspections. Review incident reports and implement corrective action when needed. Monitor documentation, medication administration, and resident records for accuracy. Ensure resident rights are upheld at all times. Leadership Supervise, coach, and mentor Home Managers and Direct Care Workers. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback. Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and employee retention. Address employee performance concerns through coaching and progressive discipline. Lead regular management meetings and staff training sessions. Resident Care Ensure person-centered care is delivered consistently. Monitor implementation of resident service plans. Resolve resident and family concerns promptly and professionally. Collaborate with physicians, case managers, hospice, home health, therapy providers, and guardians to coordinate care. Financial Management Monitor labor costs, overtime, and operating expenses. Assist with budgeting and financial planning. Support occupancy growth through referral development and community outreach. Track and report key operational metrics. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Social Work, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience in Adult Foster Care, assisted living, behavioral health, home care, or a related healthcare setting. Experience supervising multiple locations is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Michigan AFC licensing regulations and resident rights. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Valid Michigan driver's license with reliable transportation. Ability to pass all required background checks. Primarily Monday-Friday with flexibility to meet operational needs. Must be available for occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency on-call support. Frequent travel between AFC homes is required.
