Responsibilities Responsible for resident billing including verification of individual resident financial status and insurance coverage, determination of primary payer and processing of initial resident billing to appropriate third-party service. Responsible for submission of secondary billings to third party or private payer. Support with facility cost report audits as needed. Lead and supervise administrative staff to ensure smooth daily operations across all office functions. Prepares charge slips for monthly billings including all therapies, pharmacy, and medical supplies. Communicates with other departments regarding changes in resident status as it affects reimbursement, billing, and continued stay. Receives pre-authorization for treatments as required by Medicaid or other third-party payers. Posts cash receipts and prepares cash balancing report. See job description for further details. Job Qualifications Four-year college degree preferred. Minimum 2 years experience as business officer manager in skilled nursing facility. Minimum 2 years experience with Medicare, Medicaid and other third party billing. Ability to enter/retrieve information from computer, spreadsheets and internet platforms.
