Full-Time Director of Communications & Development West-Central Independent Living Solutions (WILS), a nonprofit organization empowering people with disabilities to live independently, is seeking a full-time Director of Communications & Development to work from our Warrensburg office. We are looking for a relationship-builder and strategic communicator who can expand WILS funding network, grow donor support, strengthen community partnerships, and ensure our communications efforts contribute to the organization's long-term growth and sustainability. Essential Functions The Director of Communications & Development leads WILS communications, fundraising, donor development, and external relationship strategies. Responsibilities include identifying and pursuing significant funding opportunities; cultivating relationships within healthcare, philanthropy, foundations, businesses, and other funding networks; developing donor and sponsorship strategies; strengthening donor engagement and giving; and identifying opportunities for new and sustainable revenue. The Director will also provide strategic direction for WILS marketing, website, social media, public relations, organizational messaging, community engagement, and outreach activities to ensure communications strengthen WILS visibility, partnerships, referrals, fundraising, and overall organizational growth. This builds on WILS existing emphasis on strategic partnerships, fundraising, sponsorships, speaking opportunities, and community relationship development. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit management, business, development, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. Demonstrated experience in fundraising, development, communications, marketing, relationship development, or a related area required. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships and develop new funding opportunities. Established connections within healthcare, philanthropy, foundations, business, or other funding networks are strongly preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication, relationship-building, strategic planning, and project management skills are required. Benefits This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary of $70,000 annually.
