Business Development Sales Manager & Strategic Marketing Accounts Karst Stage -
Bozeman, MT About Karst Stage:
Bozeman's Premier Transportation Provider Since 1902—delivering dependable airport shuttles to Big Sky and West Yellowstone, luxury group charters, memorable wedding transportation, and expertly guided tours throughout Montana and Yellowstone.
Position Overview:
Karst Stage is looking for a Business Development Sales Manager & Strategic Marketing Accounts to serve as the company's primary customer and relationship-management resource across Montana. This position is responsible for maintaining and strengthening key existing customer relationships, including major transit contracts, while developing new business opportunities in airport transportation, charter, resort transportation, and other targeted markets. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position that combines account management, business development, and a practical understanding of motorcoach and transit operations. The position will work closely with Montana General Managers and operating teams to ensure customer commitments and proposed business opportunities are operationally feasible, financially sound, and successfully delivered. The position is based in Bozeman and will support business development and strategic customer relationships throughout Montana.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development Sales Manager & Strategic Marketing Accounts - Maintain and strengthen existing customer relationships while developing new business opportunities. Serve as the primary relationship-management resource for designated major transit and strategic accounts. Identify opportunities to expand existing contracts and services. Understand contract requirements, customer expectations, performance standards, and upcoming business needs. Maintain an organized account-management process and ensure important customer commitments are tracked and followed through. Identify emerging transportation needs and develop practical service solutions. Develop a qualified business-development pipeline and maintain consistent follow-up. Ensure that customer commitments are consistent with the company's ability to deliver reliable and profitable service. Participate in implementation of new business to facilitate a successful transition from sales to operations. Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of motorcoach and transit operations. Develop relationships with various transit associations, convention and visitors bureaus, and local chambers.
Qualifications:
Strong work ethic with a positive attitude. Four-year degree and 3+ years of related experience. Demonstrated experience in business development, account management, sales, customer relationship management, or a related field. Experience in transportation, motorcoach, transit, hospitality, tourism, logistics, or another operationally complex industry strongly preferred. Understanding of motorcoach and/or transit operations strongly preferred. Highly organized with strong follow-through. Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with operating teams and senior leadership. Ability to establish credibility with both customers and transportation operations personnel. Willingness to travel throughout Montana as well as periodic trips to the Headquarters in Minneapolis, MN. Proficiency with
Microsoft Office Suite Characteristics:
This position will be a hands-on commercial role rather than a day-to-day operations management position. The position will work in partnership with Montana General Managers, bringing customer and commercial opportunities to the operating organization while relying on operational leadership for service delivery. The successful candidate will be someone who can effectively bridge the customer and the operation—understanding what the customer needs, what the business opportunity is worth, and what it will take operationally to deliver it successfully.
