Full Job Description Business Development & Support Manager Salary Range:
$74,110.40 - $117,811.20
Anticipated Hiring Range:
$74,110.40 - $96,012.80 (commensurate with skills and experience)
Position Overview:
The Business Development and Support Manager plays a critical role in advancing Invest Greenville's mission by supporting the recruitment of new businesses while also supporting existing industry and small business. This position serves as a trusted partner to the Vice President of Business Recruitment & Special Projects, who assists the organization with recruitment, engages with the county on existing industry support, and serves as a convener and supporter of the small business resource network. The manager operates with a service-oriented, team-focused approach and works collaboratively across the organization to ensure businesses and partners experience Invest Greenville as responsive, professional, and solution-driven.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, economic development, public administration, or a related field or significant industry experience Three (3) or more years of experience in economic development, business development, account management, small business programs, or related field Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with business and community stakeholders Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a small team-oriented organization. Proficiency with CRM systems and standard business software (or strong willingness to learn) Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with existing industry, business development, or business retention and expansion programs Familiarity with manufacturing, life sciences, technology, or other targeted industry sectors Experience working in or with public-private or non-profit organizations
Core Responsibilities:
Serve as key liaison for local business Serve as the primary liaison and partner to key local programs that support existing industry, small business, and entrepreneurial programs. Conduct purposeful business and partner engagements to identify growth opportunities, risks, workforce needs, infrastructure issues, or other factors affecting company performance. Coordinate internal and partner resources such as grant programming to help support businesses. Maintain strong working relationships with local partners Business Development & Pipeline Support Collaborate with the Vice President of Business Recruitment & Special Projects on prospect development, site visits, and project coordination as needed. Identify relationships with supply chain entities that support local industries which may also feed into Invest Greenville's broader recruitment pipeline. Assist with inputting and maintaining data in Salesforce Assist with RFP/RFI responses for recruitment projects and the preparation of company profiles, project information, and internal briefings Collaboration & Coordination Work closely with research, marketing, talent, and operations staff to ensure business needs are understood and addressed holistically Support cross-departmental initiatives that advance job creation, investment, and community competitiveness Participate in meetings with partner organizations, local governments, workforce entities, and other stakeholders as appropriate Represent Invest Greenville professionally at business and community events
Travel:
Frequent local travel; occasional regional or domestic travel
