Director of Sales Position Overview:
The Holiday Inn Swedesboro is seeking a passionate, results-oriented Sales Manager to lead the hotel's sales efforts in the social market segments. This role is focused on driving revenue through social group business, including weddings, reunions, and other special events. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer service and sales, be polished, confident, and have a hospitable personality that reflects the high standards of the hotel.Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Revenue Growth:
Drive sales by focusing on the social market, including weddings, reunions, and other events, with the goal of maximizing group room bookings and event businessProactive Sales Efforts:
Dedicate significant time to sales solicitation, identifying new business opportunities through sales calls, phone calls, and site toursCustomer Engagement:
Provide exceptional service to potential clients, understanding their needs, and presenting tailored solutions to match their event goalsProposal & Contract Management:
Prepare and send proposals, contracts, and confirm bookings in a timely manner. Ensure that all event details, including room blocks, meeting spaces, catering, and audiovisual needs, are accurately documented and communicated to the relevant departmentsEvent Execution:
Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure that all events run smoothly and meet or exceed client expectationsFollow-Up & Client Retention:
Ensure consistent follow-up with past, present, and potential clients to generate repeat business and foster long-term relationships- Collaboration with
Leadership:
Work closely with the Director of Sales to implement sales strategies and achieve goalsMarket Research & Strategy:
Stay up to date on local and national trends, competitive offerings, and evolving market needs, and incorporate this knowledge into sales strategiesSales Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, proposals, and customer communications. Provide weekly sales reports as requestedQualifications & Skills:
- Sales and/or hospitality experience preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and adaptable to changing market conditions.
- Must have flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate client needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
