Sports, Military, Educational, Religious, Fraternal, and Ethnic group business.
Corporate Groups:
21-49 guest rooms on peak night.
Government Groups:
21-49 guest rooms on peak night. This position is responsible for generating new business, growing existing accounts, responding to incoming opportunities, and converting qualified leads into definite business while maximizing guest room, meeting space, food & beverage, and ancillary revenue. Sales & Business Development Proactively prospect, solicit, qualify, and develop new business within assigned markets. Build and maintain relationships with meeting planners, corporations, government agencies, schools, sports organizations, religious and fraternal organizations, military contacts, and other decision-makers. Maintain an active pipeline of new, repeat, and annual business opportunities. Solicit past, lost, and dormant accounts to identify opportunities to bring business back to the hotel. Conduct sales calls, client appointments, site tours, presentations, and community outreach. Attend approved networking events, trade shows, and industry functions. Work with the Director of Sales and Revenue Management to target need periods and maximize revenue opportunities. Lead Management & Account Development Respond promptly and professionally to assigned leads from Cvent, MeetingBroker, HotelPlanner, and other lead sources. Qualify opportunities and prepare competitive proposals, pricing, concessions, contracts, and follow-up communication. Maintain consistent client follow-up through the decision process and actively work to convert opportunities into definite business. Negotiate within established hotel pricing and concession guidelines and obtain appropriate approval for exceptions. Develop long-term client relationships and identify opportunities for repeat group, catering, and negotiated-rate business. Conduct post-event follow-up to evaluate satisfaction and identify future opportunities. Sales Activity & Performance Maintain consistent proactive sales activity and meet established departmental goals, including: 30 solicitation calls per week 20 prospecting emails per week 1-2 networking opportunities per month Maintain an active and accurate sales pipeline. Meet assigned room-night, revenue, ADR, catering, and production goals. Participate in sales meetings, pipeline and revenue reviews. Complete required scorecards, forecasts, reports, and action plans if requested by established deadlines. Sales activity expectations may be adjusted based on hotel business needs and sales strategy. Delphi & Sales Systems Maintain accurate accounts, contacts, leads, bookings, activities, traces, decision dates, and lost-business information in Delphi. Document sales activity and client communication consistently. Keep lead status and booking information current throughout the sales cycle. Ensure definite business is complete, accurate, and transitioned to the appropriate Event Manager or operational team. Accurately communicate contractual commitments, concessions, VIP requirements, and special arrangements during turnover. Collaboration & Market Awareness Maintain knowledge of Albuquerque market conditions, competitors, citywide events, compression dates, hotel rates, meeting space, and selling strategies for your market. Remain engaged with key clients after turnover when appropriate to maintain relationships and support future business. Represent Crowne Plaza Albuquerque professionally in all client and community interactions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or related field preferred. Minimum 18 months of hospitality sales experience , preferably in a hotel or resort environment. SMERFE, Corporate, Government, group, or catering sales experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to prospect, develop new business, negotiate, close sales, and achieve revenue goals. Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and time-management skills. Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple accounts, leads, and deadlines. Strong computer skills and ability to learn hotel sales and property systems. Systems & Technology Experience with or ability to learn: Delphi / Delphi
