Flexible availability is required, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business, networking, and event needs Reports to: General Manager and Management Work location: In person Job Overview Spark by Hilton Lockport is seeking an experienced, motivated, and results-driven Director of Sales to lead the hotel's sales efforts and increase revenue through corporate, group, government, leisure, and local business opportunities. The Director of Sales will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, building strong client relationships, generating new business, managing existing accounts, and coordinating with the Cluster Sales Representative, General Manager, and Management to achieve the hotel's revenue and occupancy goals. Duties and Responsibilities Develop and implement sales plans and strategies to increase hotel occupancy, revenue, and market share. Identify, pursue, and secure new corporate, group, government, leisure, and local business accounts. Coordinate regularly with the Cluster Sales Representative regarding sales leads, account development, client follow-ups, market opportunities, and overall sales strategies. Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients, businesses, organizations, and community partners. Conduct regular outside sales calls, client meetings, property tours, networking activities, and follow-ups. Respond promptly to sales inquiries, requests for proposals, group leads, and client correspondence. Prepare professional proposals, quotations, contracts, presentations, and sales agreements. Negotiate rates and contract terms in accordance with the hotel's pricing strategy and Management's approval. Work closely with the General Manager, Management, and Cluster Sales Representative to develop sales targets, budgets, forecasts, and revenue strategies. Monitor local market conditions, competitor activity, demand trends, and potential business opportunities. Maintain accurate client information, sales activities, account notes, and follow-up details in the hotel's sales systems. Prepare and submit regular sales reports, production reports, forecasts, and performance updates to Management. Coordinate group bookings and special events with the front office, housekeeping, breakfast, maintenance, and other hotel departments. Ensure all group requirements, billing instructions, room-block details, and client expectations are clearly communicated to the appropriate departments. Represent the hotel professionally at community events, trade shows, business meetings, and networking opportunities. Maintain knowledge of Spark by Hilton brand standards, hotel services, room types, amenities, promotions, and local attractions. Support the General Manager and Management with other sales, marketing, and operational responsibilities as required. Qualifications and Experience Previous hotel sales experience is required. Previous supervisory or management experience in a hotel environment is preferred. Experience developing corporate, group, government, leisure, and local business accounts is an asset. Familiarity with Hilton brand standards or previous experience working at a Hilton-branded property is an asset. Strong sales, negotiation, networking, and relationship-building skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-up abilities. Ability to prepare professional proposals, contracts, reports, and client correspondence. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the Cluster Sales Representative, General Manager, Management, and hotel employees. Strong guest-service skills with a professional, confident, and positive attitude. Ability to meet sales goals and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hotel environment. Basic knowledge of hotel property-management systems, sales systems, Microsoft Office, and operational reporting. Ability to travel locally for sales calls, client meetings, and networking events when required. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
