Job Summary:
The Manager, Business Development supports the identification, assessment, and advancement of new business opportunities and clinical service development across the network and regions. The manager plays a key part in business planning efforts by assessing opportunities based on organizational need, financial viability, and alignment with WMCHealth's strategic priorities. The manager collaborates with a broad range of internal and external partners to support the execution of business development initiatives. In addition, this role maintains responsibility for effective tracking, reporting, and communication of performance outcomes, providing visibility into progress, impact, and return on investment for implemented initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Business Planning & Analysis Manages endâ€'toâ€'end business plan development for new programs, service expansions, and strategic initiatives, ensuring clear rationale, robust analyses, and alignment with organizational priorities. Coordinates with operations, finance, and clinical stakeholders to gather inputs needed for business plan narratives and financial summaries. Conducts analyses for new business opportunities, including market assessments, demand analyses, financial profitability, and provides recommendations for leadership review. Facilitates communication between key project stakeholders and planning on needs assessments for new programs or investments requiring State regulatory planning and/or Certificate of Need. Project & Program Management Manages the development and implementation of network and regional business plans by coordinating project intake and prioritization, tracking key milestones and deliverables, and synthesizing information into cohesive plans aligned with organizational priorities. Facilitates communication and coordination with stakeholders across the network to ensure clarity, alignment, and timely execution of new initiatives. Assists in maintaining dashboards, scorecards, and tracking tools to monitor progress and performance of approved initiatives. Provides cross-functional support to other department areas including Strategy and Regulatory Planning, to ensure integration and consistency across departmental priorities. Business Development Provides analytical and operational support for external business development initiatives, including preparing data and information for leadership review, supporting due diligence processes, and coordinating meeting agendas, documentation, and follow-up for partnership opportunities. Executive Communication & Presentation Development Creates executiveâ€'level business cases and presentations to support senior leadership decision-making. Prepares reports for network operational and business development review meetings and presents progress.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of relevant business development experience required; experience within a health system or academic medical center in financial planning, decision support and/or project management is preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred with specialization in health-related fields: business, administration, public health or other. Licenses /
Certifications, Other:
Strong relationship building skills with operational leaders, providers, external partners, and other stakeholders. Excellent communication skills (oral and written). Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Knowledge of project management, data collection, analysis and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines with little direction. Ability to work both independently and within a team. High proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint required. Previous experience with PowerBi, Tableau or other BI software preferred.
