MANAGER OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Location:
Canfield, Ohio (Greater Youngstown Area)
Salary:
$80K-$110K +

Our client is a multi-disciplined engineering and inspection consulting firm with over 45 years of experience serving Heavy Manufacturing, Steel, Metals, Utilities, Power Generation, Mining, Government, and Industrial clients throughout North America. Services include Civil/Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering along with structural inspections, overhead crane inspections, crane runway inspections, NDT services, and specialized industrial consulting services. The firm has built a reputation for providing practical engineering solutions that improve safety, reliability, and operational performance within active industrial facilities. Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manager of Business Development to drive strategic growth throughout the Midwest and North American industrial markets. This individual will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating client relationships, expanding existing accounts, and increasing market awareness of the company's engineering and inspection capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical and industrial background, established relationships within heavy manufacturing, and the communication skills necessary to develop proposals, deliver presentations, and build long-term client partnerships.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Heavy Manufacturing, Utilities, Government, Metals, Mining, and Industrial sectors. Promote the company's full range of engineering and inspection services. Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing clients. Engage plant managers, engineering managers, maintenance personnel, procurement teams, and executive leadership. Prepare customized proposals, capability statements, and presentations. Develop and deliver professional PowerPoint presentations highlighting company experience and qualifications. Track client activities, meetings, opportunities, and forecasts through CRM systems. Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging market opportunities. Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, industry events, and networking functions. Collaborate with engineering and inspection teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, technical sales, account management, or industrial consulting. Proven experience within engineering, inspection, industrial services, manufacturing, or construction industries. Strong understanding of heavy manufacturing and industrial operations. Established network within steel, metals, utilities, manufacturing, or industrial markets preferred. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Willingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, conferences, and industry events.
