Job Description
Overview Burkhardt is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our land surveying, civil engineering and site development team. This role is responsible for leading and managing all business development activities with the aim of expanding the firm's market presence, developing new project opportunities and building lasting relationships with clients and industry partners. This is a public facing role that will include communicating and meeting with existing and prospective clients, stakeholders, and government officials. Success in this role requires excellent communication, relationship-building, organizational, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to represent Burkhardt with professionalism, integrity, and confidence. Responsibilities Research and identify prospective clients based on the firm's core strengths and target markets. Connect with prospective clients via cold calls, emails, and in-person to introduce the firm and generate project opportunities. Attend networking events and industry conferences to expand the firm's visibility in target markets. Select and manage specific marketing initiatives to support growth. Prepare and give presentations at project interviews. Utilize software to track all business development activities, including opportunities, proposals and outcomes. Analyze data and make recommendations to improve processes and success rates. Communicate regularly with existing and prospective clients to understand their needs, identify challenges and present solutions. Collaborate with other team members to develop proposals and fee structures and determine project availability. Utilize proposal generation software to prepare and send proposals. Prepare project profiles, conceptual design sketches, and research to demonstrate experience and provide additional value to clients. Attend project meetings to maintain visibility with clients and team members. Conduct surveys to obtain feedback on the firm's performance and client satisfaction. Serve as a trusted advisor and advocate for key clients. Manage social media and website content. Develop, update, and manage SOQs, project profiles, sell sheets, and other marketing related materials. Select and manage vendors associated with business development activities.
