General Sales Manager / General Manager Position Summary The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the dealership sales team, driving new and pre-owned vehicle sales, coaching and developing sales professionals, and ensuring an outstanding customer experience. This position oversees daily sales operations, manages the sales pipeline, assists with deal structure, and works closely with Finance, BDC, and Service departments to achieve dealership goals. Primary Responsibilities Lead, motivate, and coach the sales team to consistently achieve and exceed monthly sales objectives. Conduct daily sales meetings to review goals, appointments, inventory, lead management, and performance expectations. Work directly with customers during negotiations to ensure a positive buying experience. Assist sales consultants in closing deals and overcoming customer objections. Review and approve deal structures while maintaining dealership profitability. Monitor CRM activities to ensure proper lead follow-up and customer communication. Partner with the BDC department to maximize appointment show rates and sold opportunities. Ensure all sales consultants follow dealership sales processes from greeting through delivery. Maintain showroom standards, vehicle displays, and lot presentation. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with management to stock desirable vehicles. Recruit, train, onboard, and develop high-performing sales professionals. Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions and performance reviews. Maintain strong customer satisfaction (CSI) scores and promptly resolve customer concerns. Collaborate with Finance, Service, and Parts departments to provide a seamless customer experience. Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of automotive sales experience. Previous automotive sales management experience preferred. Proven record of achieving and exceeding sales goals. Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills. Excellent negotiation and customer service abilities. Experience using dealership CRM and DMS systems. Professional appearance and communication skills. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred Experience Experience with Nissan or other franchised dealerships preferred. Knowledge of CRM platforms such as VinSolutions, Elead, DealerSocket, or similar. Experience with inventory management and merchandising. Strong understanding of automotive finance and desking principles. Pay:
$90,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
