Wedding Event Sales Director

As Wedding & Event Sales Director, you will help couples, families, and organizations bring those experiences to life at Nemacolin through exceptional service, thoughtful planning, and strong relationship management. Balancing event sales, business development, and operational coordination, you will guide events from inquiry through execution while cultivating new opportunities and strengthening client partnerships. Your leadership, creativity, and attention to detail help drive revenue, support team success, and create memorable experiences that keep guests returning to celebrate life's most important occasions. What You Will Create Meaningful celebrations and memorable events by guiding weddings, social events, and special functions from initial inquiry through planning, coordination, and execution Strong client relationships by providing personalized service, timely communication, and thoughtful guidance throughout the sales and planning process Revenue growth and new business opportunities by cultivating prospects, conducting property tours, identifying market opportunities, and converting inquiries into confirmed business A well-coordinated event experience by partnering with food and beverage, hotel operations, transportation, marketing, and other resort teams to align details and deliver on client expectations A high-performing sales operation by maintaining accurate client records, managing contracts and deposits, tracking activity, and ensuring timely follow-through on all event details Strategic business insight by evaluating guest feedback, market trends, demographic information, and program performance to identify opportunities for growth and improvement A capable and engaged team by supporting hiring, training, coaching, development, and performance accountability while fostering a culture of hospitality and service excellence Strong operational and financial performance by supporting departmental planning, budgeting, staffing, resource allocation, and business objectives What You Can Expect A highly visible role that combines sales, event planning, client relationship management, and leadership responsibilities Daily interaction with couples, event hosts, guests, vendors, business partners, resort leaders, and associates across multiple departments Ownership of multiple events and priorities simultaneously, requiring organization, adaptability, and attention to detail Opportunities to influence revenue performance, guest satisfaction, event innovation, and business growth A balance of strategic planning and hands-on execution, with regular on-site event presence to ensure successful outcomes Collaboration with resort leadership to evaluate business opportunities, market trends, operational effectiveness, and future growth initiatives A flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-based operational needs What You Bring A relationship-driven approach that allows you to build trust quickly with clients, guests, associates, and business partners Strong leadership instincts with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop others while maintaining accountability and high standards A creative and solutions-oriented mindset that balances client expectations, operational realities, and business objectives Strong business judgment and decision-making skills when managing priorities, resources, and changing circumstances Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail Professionalism, confidence, and composure in high-profile, high-expectation environments Curiosity about emerging events, hospitality, and consumer trends, with a desire to continuously elevate the guest experience Qualifications Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business administration, marketing, event management, or a related field preferred Minimum three to five years of experience in hospitality sales, event sales, wedding sales, marketing, or a related field Previous leadership experience with responsibility for coaching, training, developing, or supervising associates preferred Experience within a luxury hospitality, resort, hotel, or event environment preferred Demonstrated success in sales, client relationship management, business development, or event planning Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to perform basic mathematical functions and interpret business-related information Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills Must be at least 18 years of age Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-based operational needs Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting or carrying up to 30 pounds Additional Information This job description reflects the primary responsibilities and qualifications associated with the position and is intended to provide a general understanding of the role.
