Job Description This position works remotely from a home office and candidate can live mostly anywhere in Western Pennsylvania or Western New York.
Position Includes:
Base Salary plus Commission, Company Car, Paid Travel Expenses, Cell Phone, Computer, 401K Match, Paid Time Off, Health Benefits and more. PURPOSE The purpose of the Area Manager position is to plan, organize, and achieve sales goals, in a designated geographic territory, based on the company business plan. The Area Manager is responsible for securing customers, locations, and permits to run fireworks stands, each year, based on a budgeted number of locations. The Area Manager should meet and exceed monthly and seasonal goals/deadlines that include, but are not limited to: securing customers, completing leases, permits, and site surveys.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Recruit and sign up quality, credit worthy groups and individuals to operate retail fundraising locations for July and the Indian holiday, Diwali. The Area Manager is responsible for selling the TNT fundraising program to any and all interested parties, signing up those parties, and training the parties to successfully merchandise and sell the TNT product. This responsibility requires the manger to generate interested parties by methods including but not limited, to cold calling, networking, mailings, social media and warm sales calls. Meet and exceed projected seasonal sales goals. Maintain and demonstrate the highest degree of customer service and sales professionalism to ensure operators satisfaction and contract re-signing for the next season to reduce operator turnover. Permitting, Leasing, Profit/Loss Statement Research, apply for and secure location operating permits from state, county, and city officials. Permits must be obtained in a timely manner and will include but not be limited to: business permits, zoning, fire, building, signage, permits and tax licenses. Research, negotiate and secure quality retail locations via property leasing. Area Manager will be responsible for identifying good retail locations, meeting with property agent and leasing the property based on projected sales and profitability. Conduct pre-sale meets with chain store managers, including Wal-Mart, to secure authorization for stand/tent setup. Complete post-sale program satisfaction surveys with each store manager. Travel and Support Substantial travel within geographic sales territory required. Overnight travel as required within geographic territory and for bi-annual/quarterly sales meetings. Substantial geographic/overnight travel during two-week sales seasons. Area Manager will visit each sales location at least three times and be "on-call" 24/7 during seasons. Area Managers may be required to assist in other territories for training purposes, orientation, site visits, return centers, and sales blitz's, as needed
LEVEL OF SUPERVISION
Area Manager works from home office with minimal level of supervision. Must be self-motivated and disciplined. Participates in weekly conference call and submits weekly progress updates directly to their Regional Manger.
DRIVING RECORD
Area Manager must have and maintain acceptable driving record per company policy.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or Bachelor Degree in business or marketing highly desired. 2 years previous outside sales experience desired. Needs to be exceptionally organized and able to excel at working from a homebased office environment.
Basic computer skills:
Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Needs to have an energetic and friendly personality. Must be comfortable presenting to large groups. Experience recruiting or selling to organizations and/or non-profit groups is a plus. Must have demonstrated a high degree of analytical ability for problem solving, planning and have superior organizational skills. Supervision experience is a plus. Experience in developing and implementing a business plan. Experience working with deadlines, budgets and sales goals.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Non-Sales Season- Position requires a substantial amount of driving (average 40,000 miles annually), sitting, walking, telephone and computer use. Area Manager's office will be in their home, but will have significant weekly travel within their territory. Work schedule will include day, evening and possible weekend work. Position does require overnight travel multiple times during the year. Sales Season - Position requires a substantial amount of driving (average of 40,000 miles) annually. In addition to non-sales season requirements, the sales season requires duties such as tent/stand set-up, merchandising and inspection visits. These activities require substantial outdoor work in a variety of temperatures (December/July), standing, bending, reaching and lifting of items up to 40 lbs. Sales season position will require significant extended work hours and overnight travel.
