Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a driven, relationship-oriented Business Development Manager to lead new client acquisition and strategic partnership development across our growing professional services firm. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing referral networks, identifying business opportunities, and turning conversations into long-term client relationships. The Business Development Manager will focus on generating qualified opportunities for our accounting, strategic advisory, business valuation, forensic accounting, and related professional services. This is a remote/field-based position with regular participation in networking events, conferences, referral-partner meetings, prospect meetings, and other in-person business development activities. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a consistent business development strategy focused on generating qualified opportunities and new client revenue. Identify and pursue prospective clients through networking, referrals, direct outreach, LinkedIn, industry organizations, conferences, and strategic partnerships. Build relationships with key referral sources, including attorneys, bankers, business brokers, private equity professionals, financial advisors, commercial lenders, real estate professionals, and other centers of influence. Develop relationships with business owners and executives who may benefit from accounting, advisory, valuation, forensic, or strategic consulting services. Conduct initial prospect conversations to understand business needs and identify appropriate service opportunities. Coordinate with firm leadership and technical professionals to develop proposals and move qualified opportunities through the sales process. Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects and referral partners. Represent the firm at industry events, networking organizations, conferences, and professional associations. Identify opportunities for speaking engagements, webinars, strategic partnerships, and other initiatives that increase brand visibility. Maintain an organized CRM pipeline and provide regular reporting on prospect activity, opportunities, proposals, and closed business. Track business development KPIs and continuously improve outreach and conversion strategies. Develop a strong understanding of the firm's service offerings and effectively communicate the value of those services to prospective clients and referral partners. Performance Expectations Success in this role will be measured primarily by business development activity, qualified pipeline creation, referral relationships, and new revenue generated rather than traditional office attendance.

Qualified opportunities generated New prospect meetings Referral-partner meetings New referral relationships established Proposals generated Proposal conversion rate New recurring revenue New project/engagement revenue Total collected revenue attributable to business development efforts CRM and pipeline activity Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: 3+ years of business development, sales, relationship management, or professional-services experience. Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and generate new business. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Confidence interacting with business owners, executives, attorneys, financial professionals, and other senior-level decision makers. Ability to independently manage a sales pipeline from initial outreach through opportunity development. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Experience using CRM and prospecting tools. Ability and willingness to attend in-person networking events and prospect meetings. Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a growing organization. Experience in accounting, financial services, consulting, legal services, business valuation, commercial banking, hospitality, private equity, or other B2B professional services is highly desirable.
Compensation Base Salary:
$60,000 - $72,500
Incentive Compensation:
Commission and/or performance bonuses based on new business generated and collected revenue.
Target Total Compensation:
Approximately $90,000-$110,000+ with significant upside for exceptional performance. Work Structure Remote / Field-Based The Business Development Manager may work remotely but is expected to actively participate in external business development activities, including networking events, conferences, client meetings, referral-partner meetings, and industry events. This is not intended to be a traditional inside-sales position. The successful candidate will be expected to build a meaningful professional network, develop relationships, create opportunities, and generate measurable new revenue. What Success Looks Like Within the first six months, the successful Business Development Manager will have developed a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities, established a growing network of referral partners, increased market awareness of the firm's services, and created a repeatable business development process capable of generating significant new annual revenue. The long-term opportunity is to become a key member of the firm's growth leadership team and play an important role in expanding the firm's professional services platform.

$60,000.00 - $72,500.00 per year
