About Arguijo Arguijo Corporation is a family-owned pipeline and energy infrastructure contractor headquartered in Odessa, Texas. We self-perform pipeline construction, facility and station construction, wet utilities, and oilfield maintenance across Texas and New Mexico, with active work in Arizona, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Our Energy Division builds for blue-chip midstream operators, and we have recently extended that work into substation and battery energy storage construction. We are an established, profitable contractor with two operating divisions, and we are growing deliberately over the next decade. This is the first dedicated business development role in company history. You would be building the function rather than inheriting one — setting the process, the target list, and the standards the next people in this seat will work from. The Role We are looking for a Business Development Manager to grow our Energy Division on two fronts: opening new midstream accounts, and deepening the relationships we already have. We have a strong reputation with the operators we build for and a performance record we will stand behind. What we have never had is someone whose full-time job is putting that record in front of operators who do not know us yet — and making sure the operators who do know us see the full range of what we are capable of. Roughly half of this job is hunting: identifying the right targets, getting us qualified, getting us onto bid lists, and converting that into awarded work. The other half is account development: staying close to our existing customers, understanding their upcoming programs before they go out for bid, and positioning us for scopes we can self-perform but are not currently being asked to bid. What you will do Build and rank a target list of midstream operators across our areas of operation Own the qualification process end to end — vendor registration, prequalification packages, safety and insurance submittals, and support on MSA negotiation Deepen relationships with our existing customers: understand their capital programs, integrity schedules, and turnaround plans before that work goes out for bid Identify scopes we are capable of self-performing that current customers are not yet asking us to bid Develop relationships on both sides of the buying process — the construction, integrity, and project managers who pull contractors onto work, and the supply chain and category managers who control the gate Generate bid invitations and hand opportunities to estimating with clean, well-developed scope Support conceptual estimating and scope development on early-stage opportunities Track and report the pipeline honestly: targets, qualification status, bid invitations, hit rate, and what we are losing on Represent Arguijo at industry events and operator vendor days Spend real time in the field with our crews so you sell what we can actually deliver What success looks like in year one We know midstream sales cycles are long, and we are not going to judge you on revenue in month six. Your first year is measured on a ranked target list, operators qualified, bid invitations generated from both new and existing accounts, and first awards. What You BringRequired 5+ years in business development, sales, or account management in midstream, pipeline construction, or energy services — or operator-side construction/project management experience and the relationships that come with it Existing relationships with midstream operators in our areas of operation Working understanding of pipeline construction scopes: integrity and anomaly digs, facility and station work, welded pipe, hydrotest, and the cost drivers behind them Familiarity with contractor prequalification and MSA processes (ISN, Veriforce, Avetta or similar) Willingness to travel 50%+, including regular time at our Odessa headquarters, on active job sites, and our satellite offices in Austin, TX and Albuquerque, NM Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record Preferred Time spent on the operator side of a midstream company Ability to develop scope and conceptual estimates independently Exposure to midstream, downstream, substation, power, or battery energy storage construction Experience standing up a business development function rather than joining an existing one Who this is not for This is not a marketing role or an inside sales role. If you have not sat across from a construction manager at an operator and talked through means and methods, this will be a difficult fit. Compensation and Benefits Base salary of $115,000 - $130,000 , depending on experience Commission paid on gross contract dollars collected from new contracts you secure, including new awards from existing customers (exact package to be negotiated with the applicant) First-year milestone bonuses tied to qualification and bid-invitation targets, so you are paid for progress while the longer sales cycles play out Company vehicle or vehicle allowance, fuel card, phone, and laptop Travel and business expenses covered Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays
