Director of Sales & Business Development Role Type:
Full-time, Salary + Commission Position Description The Director of Sales & Business Development is responsible for developing and growing CFR's profitable revenue through new client acquisition, expansion of existing relationships, strategic partnerships and disciplined management of the sales pipeline. This is an entrepreneurial, hands-on role. At the outset, the Director will operate primarily as an individual revenue producer - personally prospecting, qualifying opportunities, leading discovery, coordinating solutions and proposals, and advancing opportunities through close. As the revenue base grows, the position is expected to evolve toward broader responsibility for market strategy, key accounts, forecasting, sales infrastructure and additional sales resources. Company Overview CFR Compliance Group helps organizations turn occupational safety and health requirements into practical, operational systems. CFR works as an extension of internal Safety, Employee Health, Occupational Health, Risk Management, Human Resources and Operations teams - bringing structure, execution and audit-ready documentation to programs that must work in the real world. CFR's service lines include Respiratory Protection Services; Risk Management and Loss Control; Safety Programming and Infrastructure; and Governance, Recordkeeping and Monitoring. We serve healthcare, construction, manufacturing, public-sector, utility, energy and other general-industry organizations. Our work is guided by three principles: Clarity, Functionality and Readiness. Essential Responsibilities Revenue generation. Identify, develop, qualify and close profitable new business across CFR's service lines and priority markets. Prospecting and lead generation. Build and execute a consistent outbound program while responding promptly to assigned inbound opportunities. Consultative selling. Lead discovery with prospective clients, diagnose operational and compliance needs, and translate those needs into appropriate CFR solutions and business value. Pipeline management. Maintain accurate CRM records for opportunity value, stage, probability, timing, decision-makers, next actions, risks and forecast status. Proposal development and closing. Coordinate with CFR leadership and technical personnel to develop scope, pricing, presentations, proposals and commercial terms; lead follow-up, negotiation and close. Existing-account expansion. Create new revenue by expanding CFR into additional services, facilities, populations, departments, locations or business units. Strategic relationships. Develop referral sources, channel relationships, association contacts and complementary partners that can generate qualified opportunities. Market development. Help identify attractive verticals, geographies, buyer personas, triggers, emerging needs and competitive opportunities. Sales-to-Operations handoff. Ensure that scope, pricing assumptions, scheduling needs, commitments and client expectations are accurately documented and transferred before implementation. Sales infrastructure. Help create repeatable qualification standards, messaging, CRM practices, forecasts, reporting, account plans and playbooks. Future sales leadership. As revenue supports additional investment, help define, recruit, onboard and lead additional business-development resources. Qualifications and Core Competencies Demonstrated success in B2B business development, consultative selling, account development or another relationship-driven commercial role.
