Job Description

Injection Mold and Parts Sales Manager Position Summary:

The position of Injection Mold and Part Sales Manager is responsible for securing custom mold manufacturing and tooling contracts. Because tooling represents a massive capital investment rather than a simple purchase, this role is highly consultative. Representatives must guide clients through Design for Manufacturability discussions, proving how their facility's mold designs will minimize cycle times, reduce material scrap, and maximize production longevity. The position is responsible for growing the companies' fields in automotive, aerospace, marine, defense, energy, electronics, healthcare, and various custom products.

Responsibilities:

•

Business Development:

Prospect and build pipelines in industries and markets that rely heavily on injection molded components.

•

Consultative Quoting:

Analyze technical customer RFQs, 3D CAD models, and drawings for quote processing.

•

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with cost estimating and engineering, to calculate customer quotations.

•

Technical Presentations:

Present mold capabilities and configurations to prospective buyers.

•

Lifecycle Management:

Manage client accounts throughout the entire build process, from initial mold flow analysis and trial sample approvals to tool refurbishment or repair cycles.

•

Market and Data Analysis:

Report KPIs, trends, tracking, of sales data for monthly summaries and reporting to the COO.

Skills & Qualifications:

•

Plastics & Tooling Acumen:

Deep understanding of mold construction, tool metallurgy, gating systems, shrinkage rates, and the behaviors of diverse thermoplastic materials.

•

Engineering Literacy:

Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, and effectively talk shop with a client's design engineering team.

•

Sales:

Proven experience managing long, complex corporate sales cycles that involve multi-tier decision makers providing a primary bridge between client production restraints.

•

Travel:

Must be flexible for travel for customer visits and trade shows.

•

Education:

Bachelor's degree or trade experience preferred. Pay is negotiable.
