This role combines hands-on prospecting for our celebrations category business with strategic ownership of an established portfolio of key retail accounts. The right person is both a hunter and an account builder: comfortable creating a pipeline, leading retail pitches and turning opportunities into new distribution, while also using strategy, data and strong relationships to grow existing business. This position reports to the VP of Sales and Business Development. What You'll Do Prospect for new retail accounts, categories and placements that expand our presence in the marketplace. Build and actively manage a new-business pipeline, including outreach, meetings, proposals and win/loss status. Lead category reviews, line reviews, RFPs and program submissions to secure new distribution. Identify white-space opportunities across regions, channels and retail formats. Represent Garven at industry trade shows and events, and follow through on new leads. Develop and execute account strategies that deliver sales and profit goals. Serve as the strategic point of contact for an assigned portfolio of key retail accounts. Plan retail sales, operations, marketing and promotional strategies that support partnership goals. Partner with product development, sourcing, operations and other cross-functional teams to bring programs to market. Use sales and inventory data to make product recommendations and identify growth opportunities. Anticipate issues, resolve program challenges and keep customers and internal teams aligned. Travel overnight as needed for customer meetings, industry events and trade shows. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in sales management, marketing, business or a related field. Minimum of five years of strategic B2B sales experience. Demonstrated success prospecting, pitching and winning new retail business. Proven ability to grow and retain key customer accounts. Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills. Sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential and proprietary information appropriately. Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, organizational and decision-making skills. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with strong Word and Excel skills preferred. Preferred Experience Experience prospecting or managing business with national mass-market or big-box retailers such as Walmart, Michaels, Kroger or Target. Experience in greeting cards, gifts, celebrations or a related consumer products category. Experience working with retailer vendor portals, EDI systems and compliance or scorecard requirements. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience. How You'll Work You make sound decisions, think strategically and use financial data to guide your work.
