Job Description

Territory Sales Manager - Outside Sales & Operations This isn't a traditional Territory Sales Manager role. If you're looking for a position where you make sales calls, close the deal, and hand everything off to someone else, this probably isn't the right opportunity. You're the hunter and the farmer. We're looking for someone who wants to own a territory from start to finish — building the business, developing customer relationships, supporting projects, leading a small local team, and stepping in when needed to make sure the customer is taken care of. The role is roughly 80% outside sales and business development and 20% operations and personnel oversight. It requires someone who is equally comfortable sitting across the table from a customer and rolling up their sleeves when things get busy. Our customers operate around the clock, and so do we. Equipment issues, emergency projects, and customer needs don't always happen between 8:00 and 5:00. Travel, changing schedules, long days, and occasional after-hours needs are part of the business. For the right person, this is an opportunity to truly run a territory like your own business. About Us DH Tech is an industry leader in temporary temperature and humidity control solutions serving the construction, industrial, and water damage restoration industries. We provide specialized rental equipment, monitoring, technical expertise, and turn-key project support to help our customers create and maintain the proper environmental conditions for their projects. We operate nationwide and internationally and have built our reputation around responsiveness, technical expertise, and taking care of the customer when they need us most. What You'll Be Doing Drive the Business - 80% Your primary responsibility is to grow the territory.
You will:
Develop new business through consistent outside sales and prospecting Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers Identify new customers, projects, industries, and revenue opportunities Conduct jobsite visits, customer meetings, presentations, and follow-up Develop a strong understanding of your market and competitive landscape Stay involved after the sale to ensure commitments are delivered Build a reputation as a trusted resource customers call when they have a problem Take ownership of the territory's sales activity, customer relationships, and overall growth Own the Operations - 20% You won't simply sell the work and walk away. You will also help ensure your territory can deliver what you sell.
Responsibilities include:
Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to a small team of technicians Coordinate with operations to support equipment deliveries, installations, service calls, and project needs Help maintain equipment and inventory readiness Help maintain shop Address personnel, scheduling, and operational issues when they arise Monitor active projects and help resolve customer or equipment issues Ensure company safety standards and operating procedures are followed Step in and assist when necessary to keep a project moving or take care of a customer This is a hands-on leadership role. There will be times when you need to visit a jobsite, help troubleshoot an issue, assist your technicians, check equipment, or handle something that isn't technically "sales." No job is beneath the person responsible for the territory. What Success Looks Like The strongest person for this position is someone who thinks like an owner, not simply a salesperson.
You:
Are competitive and motivated to grow a business Enjoy being in front of customers and developing new relationships Take accountability rather than waiting for someone else to solve a problem Can lead people without needing a large management structure around you Are organized enough to balance sales activity with operational responsibilities Stay calm when priorities suddenly change Are comfortable making decisions and solving problems in the field Understand that exceptional customer service sometimes requires flexibility Are willing to get your hands dirty when the situation requires it Want responsibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to directly influence your earnings and the success of your territory What We're Looking For 3+ years of successful outside sales experience Equipment rental, industrial services, construction, HVAC, restoration, or related industry experience strongly preferred Proven ability to develop new business rather than relying solely on an existing customer base Strong relationship-building and customer service skills Leadership or supervisory experience Comfortable working around industrial equipment and jobsites Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Ability and willingness to travel as business needs require Flexibility to respond to occasional after-hours or emergency customer needs Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record The Reality of the Role We believe candidates should understand what they're signing up for. This can be a demanding business. Our customers may experience equipment problems, project changes, or emergencies at inconvenient times. Some projects require travel, long days, or changing schedules. You won't be expected to do everything yourself — but you will be expected to take ownership and help find the solution. In return, you'll have significant autonomy to develop your market, build customer relationships, lead your local operation, and directly benefit from the business you create. What We Offer Competitive Base Salary + Uncapped Commission Annual Bonus Opportunity Company Vehicle/Vehicle Program, if applicable Paid Holidays & PTO Health Insurance - 100% Employer-Paid Medical Option 401(k) with Company Match Training and ongoing industry development Opportunity to build and grow your own territory If you're a strong outside salesperson who wants more ownership than a traditional sales position — and you're willing to lead from the front when the job requires it — we want to hear from you.
