Job Description

About Century-Tech Century-Tech Machinery LLC is the only fully domestic U.S. manufacturer of servo-controlled plastic bag converting machines. Our equipment has run on the production floors of leading flexible packaging converters across North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean, backed by a deep spare-parts business and an installed base that spans the industry's largest names. We build machines in the United States and support them globally. We are a hands-on, growth-stage manufacturer investing heavily in the people, processes, and commercial engine needed to significantly scale the business. This is a rare opportunity to own new machine sales for an established, respected American OEM at an inflection point — with executive visibility, a real product to sell, and the runway to build a category-leading commercial function. Position Summary The Vice President of New Machine Sales will own new capital equipment sales for Century-Tech across all of North America. This is a senior, quota-carrying commercial leadership role responsible for the full sales cycle — from prospecting and application development through technical evaluation, proposal, negotiation, and close — for our servo-controlled bag machines, wicketers, and related converting equipment. Success in this role demands more than relationship selling. Our buyers are the owners, principals, and plant leadership of plastic converting companies who make seven-figure capital decisions based on throughput, uptime, changeover, and cost-per-bag. The right candidate can sit across the table from a converting-company owner and speak fluently and credibly about the mechanical and process realities of the machine — the servo drive architecture, sealing and cutting, web handling and tension control, tooling, cycle rates, and maintenance — and translate those capabilities into a business case the owner trusts. Key Responsibilities Own the global new-machine P&L. Carry and deliver the annual new machine bookings target across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, building and executing the territory and account strategy to meet or exceed it. Drive the full capital equipment sales cycle. Generate and qualify opportunities through prospecting, referrals, trade shows, and the existing customer base; manage each opportunity through application evaluation, proposal, negotiation, and close. Sell at ownership level. Establish and maintain trusted relationships across every level of the converting customer — from operations, maintenance, and purchasing through plant management and company ownership — and lead the executive-level conversations that move capital decisions forward. Be the technical authority in the room. Conduct machine demonstrations and technical evaluations; speak credibly to the mechanical and process aspects of converting machinery; and translate a customer's film, bag style, throughput, and changeover requirements into the right machine configuration. Partner with engineering on custom solutions. Act as the liaison between the customer and Century-Tech engineering, gathering complete application details for evaluation, configuration, and accurate quoting of standard and custom machines. Coordinate a clean sales-to-build handoff. Work with project management and operations so that every won order transitions seamlessly into the build schedule with correct specifications and managed customer expectations on lead time and delivery. Represent Century-Tech in the market. Serve as the face of the company at industry events and trade shows (including Pack Expo) and within the flexible packaging converting community. Maintain forecast and pipeline discipline. Keep the CRM current with accurate pipeline, forecast, activity, and competitive intelligence, and provide the reliable forecasting that drives Century-Tech's capacity and build-schedule planning. Bring the voice of the customer inside. Monitor competitive activity, pricing, and market trends, and feed structured market and product feedback to leadership and engineering to shape the roadmap. Operate as a commercial owner. Manage territory travel and expenses within budget, uphold the highest standards of ethics and integrity, and help build the commercial playbook that a scaling sales organization will run on. Required Qualifications This role has one non-negotiable requirement: the candidate must be able to speak fluently and credibly about the converting machinery itself. That fluency can come from either of two backgrounds: Packaging / converting machinery sales experience — a proven track record selling capital converting or packaging equipment (bag machines, wicketers, extrusion, printing, laminating, or comparable web-converting machinery); OR Plastic converting operating experience — hands-on experience inside a plastic converting company (production, engineering, plant leadership, or maintenance) deep enough that the candidate understands the machines intimately and can speak to a converting-company owner fluently about their mechanical and process aspects. In addition, the successful candidate will bring: Demonstrated ability to sit across from the owner or principal of a converting company and hold a credible, detailed technical conversation about machine performance, mechanics, and process. A verifiable record of closing complex, technical, long-cycle capital equipment sales at six- and seven-figure order values. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to interpret technical requirements, drawings, and specifications. Consultative, value-based selling skills — including proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
Self-directed territory management:
prospecting, planning, forecasting, and disciplined pipeline management in a CRM. Excellent written and verbal communication and executive-level presentation skills. Willingness and ability to travel 50-70% across North America; valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a passport for U.S., Canadian, and Mexican travel. Preferred Qualifications Direct experience with servo-controlled bag-making machines, wicketers, or plastic film converting lines. Established relationships within the global flexible packaging converting industry. Comfort reading line layouts and general familiarity with packaging or converting line layouts. What Success Looks Like In the first twelve months, the Vice President of New Machine Sales will have taken full ownership of the global new-machine pipeline, built or rebuilt relationships with the highest-value converting accounts and prospects, delivered against the new machine bookings target, and stood up a repeatable, forecastable sales process that gives Century-Tech the visibility it needs to plan its build schedule and staffing as the business scales.
