Arlington, TX Job Details Full-time 19 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Role Summary The Business Development Manager (BDM) serves as the frontline driver of revenue growth and market expansion for the organization. This role is responsible for growing sales within existing customers, expanding into underdeveloped markets, and identifying new business opportunities aligned with the company's One Page Strategic Plan (OPSP). The BDM leverages a solutions-selling approach to communicate ESP's full value proposition, builds multi-level customer relationships, and drives profitable long-term agreements. Acting as a trusted advisor, this role ensures best-in-class customer support while maximizing profitable growth. Core Expectations for All Employees All employees are expected to: Deliver high-quality work within established timelines Work both independently and collaboratively Communicate proactively and professionally Provide excellent service to internal and external customers Demonstrate accountability and ownership mindset Contribute positively to team and company culture Essential Job Functions Revenue Growth & Market Expansion Develop and execute annual sales strategy aligned with OPSP goals and metrics Drive profitable growth within existing accounts and targeted new markets Prepare and administer action plans for major customers Support sales forecasting for assigned customers Follow up on referrals and external lead sources Participate in trade shows and professional industry events Solutions Selling & Value Creation Market ESP's full suite of products and services using a solutions-selling approach Communicate ESP's unique value proposition and market differentiation Integrate knowledge of products, competitors, and customer needs to create value-based solutions Utilize WinValue Solution Selling and other defined best practices Customer Relationship Management Build relationships at multiple levels within customer organizations (Purchasing, Engineering, Executive leadership) Obtain high-level access and articulate strategic value-based solutions Act as a trusted advisor to prospects and clients Partner with Strategic Account Managers to develop and implement service strategies Provide technical support coordination with Engineering resources as needed Negotiation & Contract Management Lead or support pricing and contract negotiations Collaborate with Strategic Account Managers to create and execute Long-Term Agreements (LTAs) Negotiate service, delivery, and inventory level agreements to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction Customer & Industry Expertise Maintain in-depth knowledge of customers, prospects, competitors, market conditions, and growth opportunities Extract actionable insights from CRM systems to support call planning and opportunity management Continuously enhance professional and technical knowledge through education and networking Core Competencies Strategic sales planning and revenue growth execution Solutions-selling and value-based negotiation Executive-level relationship building and influence Sound business judgment and decision making Profitability and margin management focus Clear verbal and written communication CRM utilization and opportunity management discipline Adaptability in complex and pressure-driven environments Technical & Functional Skills Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint CRM systems and database management Sales forecasting and pipeline management tools Ability to interpret technical product specifications and applications Functional Skills Complex solutions-selling in OEM or industrial markets Multi-level customer engagement (technical, purchasing, executive) Contract negotiation and LTA development Market analysis and competitive positioning Cross-functional coordination with Engineering and Customer Service teams
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field Minimum 5 years of related sales or business development experience Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure business environments
Preferred:
Experience in complex, solutions-based selling within OEM markets Seal or related industrial product knowledge Demonstrated technical aptitude Working Conditions & Physical Requirements This role is primarily office and field based environments.
