Job Description
Commercial & Industrial Construction Sales Role Location:
Houston, Texas About Newco Welding Newco Welding is a Houston-based structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabricator serving commercial and industrial construction throughout Texas. We partner with general contractors, industrial contractors, EPC firms, and facility owners to provide structural steel fabrication, miscellaneous metals, field installation, and custom fabrication. We are growing aggressively and are seeking an experienced business development professional who understands the commercial construction and industrial industry and knows how to create opportunities before projects are awarded. This is not an entry-level sales position. Position Summary The Business Development Executive is responsible for generating profitable new business by developing relationships with commercial and industrial construction decision-makers. Success in this role is measured by:- New qualified opportunities created

- Gross profit generated Responsibilities
- Develop new business with General Contractors, EPC firms, industrial contractors, plant owners, municipalities, and commercial developers.
- Identify upcoming projects before they reach the bidding stage.
- Schedule in-person meetings with estimators, project managers, purchasing teams, and company leadership.
- Generate opportunities for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, stairs, railings, platforms, ladders, and custom fabrication.
- Maintain communication with customers throughout estimating, bidding, award, fabrication, and project completion.
- Review construction reports, permit activity, Dodge Construction Network, and other industry resources to identify upcoming work.
- Work closely with estimating to communicate customer requirements before proposals are prepared.
- Follow up on every proposal submitted to understand project status, competitive positioning, and opportunities to improve future bids.
- Develop long-term customer relationships that lead to repeat business.
- Represent Newco Welding at customer offices, industry events, networking organizations, and construction association meetings.
- Maintain an organized sales pipeline and document customer activity in the company's CRM. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of outside business development or commercial construction sales experience.
- Experience selling to commercial or industrial construction customers.
- Demonstrated history of developing new business rather than managing existing accounts.
- Experience calling on General Contractors, industrial contractors, EPC firms, project managers, estimators, purchasing teams, or facility owners.
- Experience using Dodge Construction Network, BuildingConnected, ConstructConnect, or similar construction lead platforms.
- Comfortable prospecting through cold calls, in-person visits, networking, and referrals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel throughout the Greater Houston area. Compensation
