Job Description
Town East Ford is seeking an experienced, motivated, and results-driven Sales Desk Manager to support and lead our sales team in achieving dealership sales objectives. The Sales Desk Manager will play a critical role in structuring vehicle deals, maximizing profitability, ensuring lender approvals, mentoring sales consultants, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate is a proven automotive professional with strong desking experience, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume dealership environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Sales Leadership Assist in leading, motivating, and developing the sales team to achieve dealership sales goals. Work directly with Sales Consultants to structure deals that maximize gross profit while meeting customer needs. Provide coaching and training on sales processes, product knowledge, negotiation techniques, and closing strategies. Monitor daily sales activities and assist in overcoming obstacles to secure vehicle sales. Ensure adherence to dealership sales policies and procedures. Deal Structuring & Financing Desk and structure vehicle deals for both new and pre-owned inventory. Submit and negotiate deals with lenders to secure financing approvals and favorable terms. Review credit applications and identify financing opportunities. Work closely with the Finance Department to ensure smooth transitions from sales to delivery. Ensure all deal documentation is accurate and compliant with dealership and lender requirements. Customer Experience Assist sales staff in addressing customer concerns and resolving objections. Step in when necessary to help close sales and ensure customer satisfaction. Maintain a professional, customer-focused environment throughout the sales process. Support the dealership's commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and retention. Inventory & Performance Management Collaborate with management to maintain appropriate inventory levels and vehicle pricing strategies. Monitor aging inventory and assist with merchandising and sales initiatives. Analyze sales reports, market trends, and performance metrics to identify growth opportunities. Track individual and team performance against goals and provide actionable feedback. CRM & Process Management Ensure proper use of CRM systems and accurate documentation of customer interactions. Maintain consistent follow-up processes to maximize customer retention and repeat business. Monitor lead management, appointment activity, and sales conversion rates. Assist in developing strategies to increase showroom traffic and sales opportunities. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of automotive sales management or desking experience. Proven success in structuring and closing automotive deals. Strong knowledge of automotive financing, lender programs, and dealership operations. Experience with Dealertrack, VinSolutions, VAuto, and other dealership software preferred. Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching abilities. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment. Professional appearance and customer-focused attitude. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
