SUMMARY The VP, Business Development will lead the Business Development strategy and execution for a defined region, driving revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion. This role is responsible for leading a high-performing sales team, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of oilfield chemical applications, a strong Business Development acumen, and a track record of delivering results in a competitive market.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute the regional Business Development strategy in alignment with corporate goals. Identify growth opportunities and expand market share by developing new business and strengthening existing relationships. Define and enforce a value-selling framework tied to customer buying drivers Lead large-scale RFP strategy, bid/no-bid decisions, and win strategy development for key Permian accounts. Drive technical differentiation strategy in partnership with R D and field engineering. Lead transition execution strategy for large account wins Own CRM as the system of record, ensuring disciplined pipeline, forecast accuracy, and clean data; leverage insights to drive growth, flag risk, and improve margin. Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to drive Business Development strategy. Collaborate with operations and technical teams to deliver innovative chemical solutions. Lead and develop a high-performing sales team, setting clear objectives and performance metrics. Drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies, customer retention, and new account acquisition. Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders. Negotiate and oversee major contracts, pricing structures, and service agreements. Responsibility for the regional P&L, ensuring revenue and profitability targets are met. Monitor Business Development performance, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve financial goals. Ensure pricing discipline and margin optimization while maintaining competitive positioning. Work closely with supply chain, operations, and technical teams to ensure service excellence. Recruit, develop, and retain top sales talent, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability. Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities for team members. Champion company culture, values, and safety standards.REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
10+ years of Business Development leadership experience in oilfield chemicals or related industries. Proven track record of driving revenue growth and expanding market share. Strong leadership skills with experience managing sales teams and P&L responsibility. Deep understanding of oilfield chemical applications, production chemistry, and industry dynamics. Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and strategic thinking abilities. Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and pricing strategies.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a senior commercial leadership role with direct responsibility for regional or national sales strategies. Strong network and established relationships within the oil and gas industry. Experience in contract negotiation and management of long-term service agreements.
