Job Description

Events Manager Business Development New Altitude Consulting San Antonio, TX Job Details Full-time From $44,000 a year 13 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Event planning logistics Business development Driver's License TABC Certification Phone canvassing Food Handler Certification Client interaction via phone calls Full Job Description Events Manager — Outlaw Pickle (San Antonio) Full time | $44,000 base plus commission and bonus, $60,000 to $65,000 realistic first year | Tuesday to Saturday Outlaw Pickle is a 21,000 square foot indoor pickleball venue in Park North. Five courts, five private event spaces, a full bar and a chef-driven kitchen, all under one roof and all 21 and over. Companies book us for team events. Friends book us for birthdays. Associations book us for chapter nights. We are hiring an Events Manager to grow that side of the business. This is a sales job, not an events coordinator job If you want to plan events that somebody else sold you, this is not it. Your job is to go find the business. If that sounds like the good part, keep reading. What you would actually do Tuesday through Friday you start at 11:00am and work until 8:00pm. The doors do not open until 4:00pm, which gives you twenty hours a week of selling time before the building opens, and it is yours. Outbound calls to local businesses, schools, associations and nonprofits. Every lead form answered the same day. Proposals, site visits, closes. Chamber and networking events on our behalf. Saturday you start at 10:00am and work until 7:00pm, and you are on the floor. The building is full of people playing, and some of them run companies. You meet them, you learn what they do, you show them the private rooms, and you turn a good Saturday afternoon into a booked event. Sunday and Monday are your days off, and we mean it. But event inquiries come in seven days a week, and the first venue to respond usually gets the booking. We expect you to keep an eye on leads on your days off and get back to people quickly, even when that means a short reply on a Sunday afternoon. This is not a job where you work every weekend. It is a job where you do not let a live lead sit for two days, because that is exactly how this role earns its commission. You also own the events once they are on the calendar: details confirmed, kitchen and bar briefed, the right people scheduled, and a follow-up call to every host afterward asking for the review, the referral and the next booking. You earn 2.5% on every event you carry from first contact to signed booking, plus a monthly performance bonus, so the calendar you build is the raise you give yourself. What we are looking for Two or more years in sales, business development, event sales, catering sales or membership sales Comfortable picking up the phone and asking for business. This is the first thing we test in an interview Organized enough to hold twenty or more live events without dropping details Responsive. Leads do not wait for business hours, and neither should the person working them Available evenings and Saturdays, and able to flex around the event calendar Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for offsite meetings 21 or older Nice to have: Tripleseat or similar booking system experience, existing San Antonio corporate or association relationships, hospitality or food and beverage background, TABC and food handler certification. Outlaw Pickle is an equal opportunity employer.
