Job Description

Job Title:
Cemetery General Sales Manager Salary:
$80,000 - $120,000 / year plus on target earnings.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, results-driven Cemetery Sales Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for driving property sales (burial plots, mausoleum crypts, niche spaces, monuments, and memorial products) while ensuring families receive empathetic, high-touch support during both advance planning (pre-need) and immediate need (at-need) situations.
Key Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Strategy:
Drive property and memorial sales to achieve monthly and annual revenue targets. Develop outreach strategies for both pre-need community education and immediate family service.
Inventory & Property Oversight:
Oversee cemetery plot mapping, vault inventory, and mausoleum space availability.
Community Relations & Prospecting:
Build relationships with local funeral homes, religious organizations, hospice centers, and community groups to establish referral networks and promote pre-need planning benefits.
Compliance & Records Management:
Ensure all contract sales, perpetual care trust fund allocations, and deed transfers comply with state burial regulations, FTC funeral rules, and local consumer protection laws.
Operational Coordination:
Partner closely with cemetery groundskeeping, maintenance crews, and funeral directors to coordinate interment operations and memorial installations seamlessly.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
3+ years of sales management experience in the deathcare industry (cemetery, funeral home, or memorial products) or related field (e.g., insurance, real estate, senior living).
Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Mortuary Science, Public Administration, or related field preferred (relevant experience will be considered).
Skills:
High emotional intelligence (EQ) and ability to navigate sensitive, grief-impacted environments. Deep understanding of cemetery products (ground burial, lawn crypts, mausoleums, cremation gardens, headstones, and vaults). Proficiency in cemetery inventory software, CRM systems, and contract processing. Strong leadership, public speaking, and community networking abilities.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
